Can some explain to me like im 5 what “outside the numbers” and “inside the numbers” mean lol. I’ve googled and googled and can’t find an answer. This is in regard to the abilities deep out elite and short in elite. I just want to know What routes should activate with these abilities that way I can be sure to run the routes that are meant to be ran with those abilities
ok. if your looking at the field on offense, the ball is spotted in the middle of the field, or on a hash mark. Not on the far right and far left there are numbers on the field. anything on the numbers or outside is considered outside the numbers.

Thank you!!! Makes sense!!
"Outside the numbers" and "inside the numbers" refer to the markings on the football field that are used to help players locate themselves and the ball during the game. The "numbers" are the two sets of parallel lines that run down the field and mark the boundaries of the playing area.
"Inside the numbers" refers to the area of the field that is between these two sets of lines, while "outside the numbers" refers to the area of the field that is beyond them.
In terms of American football plays, routes that are designed to go "outside the numbers" typically involve the receiver running towards the sideline, while routes that are designed to go "inside the numbers" typically involve the receiver running towards the middle of the field.
So, if you have abilities that are specifically designed for "outside the numbers" or "inside the numbers," you should aim to run plays that correspond with those areas of the field. I hope that helps!
