Another question - can I use my "hybrid strategy" slot for +4 CiT? is that worth it?

Unfortunately, no rating in the game will counter KO abilities.
On top of that, no ability counters KO abilities either.
The best way to beat them is to attack where they don't have a Zone KO, or make sure you possession catch if a defender is near when you're catching the ball.

This specific information is from labbing, yes.
