I can't figure this out and maybe I'm over thinking it. I have Lynch as HB1 just for overall chem purposes, Mostert at HB2, and McCaffrey at HB3. Only Lynch and McCaffrey get plays in solos for some reason. What's the proper setup between the 1, 2, and 3, then using the power and 3rd down backs; should I not use those? I can't figure it out. And this is dumb because I've played every edition and not had this issue before. I ideally wanted to be able use Okoye or Henry for goal line situations, but Mostert never gets eyes on him. Anyone have thoughts or links to help on this? I feel dumb as hell.
chems don’t change as long as they are at some HB position on the main offense page. There are 3 possible that see field play, HB 1, 3rd Down HB (typically RB pass play), and Power HB (goaline and similar). See who you have in those specialty positions and enter practice mode to see which back is lined up in which plays, Sounds like you probably have mccaffrey as 3rd down back, and lynch as power back, you can also always make substitutions in game

Reason: Deleted. No point.

If you go into specialists on your lineup page you can and should set your strong, powerful, Derrick Henry-like RB to power/goal line/ third down. This is also why it is so important to have a well rounded starter so you don't have to worry to much about this.
If I put the power back at both power and 3rd down back, will any other backs make it on the field? What if you don't fill the specialist slots, or can you not do 1, 2, and 3 under offense? I don't get what takes precedent. I want say Lynch and Mostert to split carries, have McCaffrey available as an extra receiver on 3rd down, and then either Lynch, Henry, or Okoye at the goal line. I don't mess with formations, because there is not enough time to mess with that. All I see is HB1 and HB3 take the field (no idea what makes that happen), and then Henry will come out in goal line situations. I have McCaffrey at HB3 and 3rd down back, Henry at power HB, Lynch at HB1 (but will probably replace with Dickerson), and then Mostert as HB2. Lynch I see the most, so I assume that's because of him being HB1. What I can't tell, is if McCaffrey is out there able to split carries on other downs because he's HB3 or 3rd down back. It's like it skips over HB2 completely. I mean, obviously, and using the cowboys like 2 years ago as an example, Pollard and Zeke split carries, and Packers had Aaron Jones and Dillon. I mean, I get hardly anyone uses a FB these days, other than the 49ers and a few others. But if McCaffrey has plays available outside of 3rd down, and Mostert is like a placeholder only, it just doesn't jive with me how or why, who takes the field or has the option to in my plays.
