Any tips on what scheme/adjustments work best to stop the Goal Line schemes I’ve been encountering more and more frequently? I’ve been running inside stuff on DTs and no outsiders on binge DE and OLBs and it does help some. But it seems as there’s no rhyme or reason to when and what plays my guys just get sucked in to blockers and giving up long outside runs.
Bump no clue on thIis either
Before I share my advice, as I do have the best players in the game and Secure tacklers/avalanches all over the field (not trying to brag, just adding context).
I run the pats defense. Out of 4-3 even 6-1, I like to come out in cover 3 buzz (for whatever reason the cover 3 shell seems to be the best at stopping goal line/run heavy sets). I then like to pinch my LB's so that they are behind my DT's. I do user the MLB, and keep him about 5 or so yards away from the LOS so he does not get pancaked and can shoot any open gaps. This is really all you need to do to stop a goal line set.

Thanks for the insight. i Have noticed they react better in cover 3 for some reason, you're right. appreciate the response.
