Why are my zone kos not working?

One game my zone kos will work and the next  my guys will literally tackle them as soon as they get the ball and it just doesn’t get a knock out my then my opponents will get the most bail out 2 seconds after catch ko. Is it just luck based i assume it is knowing this shitty game?

My zone KOs tend to work most of the time but IDK.

Ive had issues with 2 zone KO players both hitting a receiver and for some reason when that happens they won’t get a KO
