Ads are based on your search history. 

However, I have been seeing some questionable ads (ones that seem to be pushing an agenda I disagree with) myself without any related prior search history.... and not just on mut.gg. I would recommend if you are using Google for this site, click the x on the ad and then the send feedback option. If you do this enough you will hopefully stop seeing the ad.
