Any nickel defense will probably be better than running 3-4. I like to run Miami dolphins defensive playbook because its nickel formations include 3-3-5 wide and Mid blitz. I almost exclusively run 3-3-5 unless my opponent is shredding it. If you run 3-3-5 wide you will have 2 deep safeties, 1 user, 3 corners. then there is the reason I run this defense and that is because of the dline. you can use both outside linebacker, 1 Dt and both defensive ends. Now there is only a few plays where they all blitz so I like to have fast outside linebackers with decent zone in the case that they play a zone. My favorite play is mike blitz where you blitz your user and the whole dline. If your opponent only has 5 blockers, this could be effective to try as many times it is an easy sack. If you want to do this same strategy with zone defense instead of man on man defense that will get smoked if you don’t get to the QB in time, run sam blitz and blitz your user. If you would like me to make a defense with a budget I can make one for you.
4-3 (6-1) is the most overpowered defense in the game currently.
In order for it to work you need the right playbook (there is only one), a strong pass rush predicated on speed, and defensive backs that can cover zone and man.
If you make a 4-3 based on zone you'll be shredded with one point touchdowns. You need to mix in man.
Thanks guys I appreciate it. Any advice on tight formations they beat me no matter what
