how do you stop it. i can’t run on dollar, and then on bunch no matter what adjustments i make a corner gets open or a crosser does.
every play is dollar on D and every play is bunch on O. i need feedback because it’s driving me insane

Play dollar and bunch. You have to beat them at their own game.

You don't though. You can be different and just try to have fun...

it sounds like redalpha is trying to win, and that’s the best way to do it.

but i don’t want to give in to the scuminess hahah i can stop the average bunch players but not the dudes with set feet lead and hot route master
dollar they are typically running db fire 2, the best way to beat that is have 2 routes/drags over the middle and hit the one they don't user, and/or get something to the corner over top of the flat. the middle/sidelines are the weak points on cover 2's dollar.
not sure what playbook you are in, i'm in bengals, they have a play called flood, if you can read this play something is always open on this when they run that dollar defense. mesh spot is also pretty effective, then throw in a run or 2 here & there and you will beat it.
w/ bunch the best way I stop it is w/ nickle 3-3 tampa 2, 25 deep flats, 15 deep hooks and then I set my curls to zero and alternate them to anything they throw underneath, you have 4 hooks so I put 1 deep and try to bait them w/ the side 2, user the middle 1, nothing over the top is really open w/ this defense unless they just get lucky throwing into coverage. 9 times outta 10 you will get a pick.

The weakness with this defense is a deep post. Unless you user it., the deep post against the setup you outlined will be open but the other stuff should be boxed

Agreed. Great post.

it bags deep post shots w/ overtop/pass. also there are 4 hooks, one in the middle is users and the one beside it is sent deep to cover the post.

I'm confused. This play has no curl flats on the field, right?

3 linemen, 4 hooks, 2 flats, 2 deep blues........
you have you 2 flats in 25's, your hooks in 15's that basically takes away anything deep, I typically shade overtop/select pass.
you put one of the middle hooks in a deep blue to protect the post area that's weak in cover 2.
that leaves you w/ 3 hooks, you user the middle one, then if they just keep throwing to flats you can put those outside hooks in a curl flat quickly which makes it a zero flat, or if you know for a fact they are throwing and you only need 1 play real fast you can throw the 2 outside linemen on those curl flats and they will be like zero flats and really covers the entire field, and qb spy your dt
you pretty much are baiting w/ the 2 outside hook zones/linemen to whatever you think they will do. if they throw deep alot leave the hooks and throw the linemen in those curl hooks every now & then to throw em off, if they never throw deep you can throw the outside hooks in curl zones/that play like zero flats.
this defense is pretty weak against the run/rpo cheese so if they doing that you probably gotta switch it up, I typically just start playing man adjustments when they do that, blitz the cornerback on the running side and man up that rpo wr
but yeah there are no curl flats in that defense, you set them to zero and adjust to them if needed.
Some good info in this thread for sure. Just came to say that the recommendation of just actually running dollar and bunch is actually a very good one. By running it successfully, you will also learn what it can and can’t do and how to attack it yourself.
I do this not only with formations but entire playbooks as well. It really just helps with overall football knowledge of play design and how to attack/defend everything which should be the goal anyway.

Too much pre snap for me 😂
