Simple answer/speculation is they don’t have the rights to a lot of former players this year.
with a smaller pool of players, they’ll have to recycle cards.
that or they don’t wana release everyone up front and save bigger names for later in the season.

The rights to players are crap this year , some players have 4+ cards already.
Think they probably lost a lot of rights to retired players so it kinda forces them to recycle

Tbh we have seen a good amount of debuts thus far for different players of the past that we haven’t seen in a few years
