While last year's Madden was not perfect, I genuinely had so much fun playing it with my friends. This year's game feels completely worse in almost every regard. There have been some good changes to the menus and lineups and things like that, but the gameplay just feels BAD. Not to mention the fact that so many people are still missing content like Ultimate Alumni, XP tokens, and Rookie Premiers. All in all it's leaving a bad taste in my mouth. EA has no accountability, and no communication. EA help is worthless. A lot of people spent time and money to get these head start cards and won't even get them until they're no longer even that good. It's just pathetic. I don't see how people can keep buying packs with the BS that we are given. This is worse than last year by a mile. And not to mention the gameplay is horrific. Stem route glitching, zones covering absolutely nothing, aggressive catches right on top of defenders, etc. 2K comes out next week and is the first time it's Next Gen on PC. I'll be switching to that and probably only playing this game every now and then to play squads with my friends. What is everyone else's thoughts? I know a pack strike would never work so I won't even keep dreaming of something like that. I just wish EA would actually face some consequences to totally screwing over the community like this.
Reason: Language lmao

Word on the street is that Take-Two Interactive (2K Games) is interested in doing their own football title again, but only if the NFL's exclusive license with EA is adjusted to become more open. We all know EA will be sending teams of lawyers and briefcases full of money to try and convince the league otherwise, but after twenty years, even the NFL cannot ignore the bad vibes. They absolutely despite if/when anyone puts a blemish on the shield.
Sadly, the NFL doesn't care one iota about the monopoly they've granted EA, but basically everything you stated above (and more) is so spot on correct.
And you're absolutely correct about the fact that it's getting worse. EA literally farmed us all for engagement during June/July M24 cycle, forcing us to log in each and every single day, by dangling these RP carrots in our faces, as a way to artificially juice their numbers, so they can go to the NFL and say, see if people hated they game so much, why are they still logging in throughout July?
EA isn't dumb, they have literally a billion dollars on the line -- this monopoly has been their cash cow. So much so that they've now figured out a way to sell us the exact same football game twice in a fiscal year. It's not liek they went out and hired a whole bunch of more developers, EA split the Madden team and imported a few select parts from CFB into M25, so they can pretend it's a new game. Then pay the marketing people to twist words and make up ridiculous terms, such as BOOM Tech, as a way to continue doing the absolute bare minimum.
I want this game to be decent in the worst way, but it is an absolutely terrible experience. I'm slowly coming to grips with my MUT addiction. Maybe the Niners will be terrible this year and i'll want to check out from the great game of football altogether. That's not usually how it works, but i'm delusional. Best of luck with NBA2K `25, my son was saying he's content with 2K24 for the time being, but i'm sure he'll get caught up in the hype cycle soon and we'll have to discuss it.
The best way to engage with these games is to wait til there's a Black Friday sale or whatever, scoop em for $35 and try to casually enjoy for what it is. Avoiding the Ultimate Team (MyTEAM) modes liek the plague. YMMV. Please let us know how next cycle of NBA is. I am just a casual 2K player.
