TheNickSix said:not really... the only thing that is really random and unpredictable is wrs dropping passes, and there is an ability that fixes that. Fumbles are consistent, tired players fumble, juking into a hit stick causes a fumble, well timed strips create fumbles, non skill position players or dbs with lower carry rates fumble, abilities can cause fumbles. Even oline dline sheds aren't completely RNG as they are mostly ability dependent. Run 5 secure protectors, and mostly rpos and you'll hardly see a non ability player get a shed.
Just goes back to what someone else said, we'd rather blame the game than scrutinize what we are doing and actually try to get better
Your response is based primarily on your experience, not on the realities of programming or quality assurance in the gaming industry. I know absolutely without ever viewing the code that interactions like fumbles, blocking, block shedding, coverage, and so on, are a combination of an algorithm based on ratings and abilities, colored by a randomly determined factor, the range itself which may be determined by yet other factors. To not have this random factor would in fact make the game feel stale during a match between two evenly skilled opponents.
To say random chance is not a factor is just plain wrong. The game‘s outcomes can be both a result of skill and randomness. The question is not IF, but HOW MUCH random chance plays a role in determining a winner. A single fumble, blown coverage, or quick-shed in a tie game with seconds to play ultimately IS the determining factor in the game when all other skill-related factors have been equal. THAT is what players don’t like about Madden.
