Raiders TT: do I pick Irvin or is Sherman THAT GUY
I think Irvin's abilities are more end game worthy than Sherman's. Irvin can equip a stack of lurk artist, tackle supreme, and mid zone ko for 0 ap. Irvin gets a lot better on a TT since you can boost him to 97 speed.
Sherman is good but I would like him a lot more if pick artist wasn't his baked on ability.
I think it's a matter of preference. Do you need a CB or LB more?
So you use lbs in your scheme? That's the only reason to even consider Irvin. Even then, he's probably better as an edge rusher with edge threat elite.
Sherman was a no Brainer for me due to depth since he can play 6 different positions in my scheme, FS/SS/CB1-4

Have Hendricks and Bo Jack but could sell Ted because Raiders LBs are stacked

Sherman is best in position, easily... granted, the entire CB position group is fairly weak at the moment, but i'm saving a TON of AP by replacing Tariq Woolen with Sherm on the outside and only losing an inch in the process, but well worth it, IMO.
I have not used Irvin, however if you have a free Ultimate Legends set, you/we (i.e. everyone) should probably be selecting that Derrick Brooks, who is without a doubt one of the best USERs in the entire game. Irvin surely is up there, but i feel liek there's at least a handful of other cards that could fill the same role as Bruce. Heck, i've been using this Rodney Harrison (Mid Zone KO + Tackle Supreme) which feels liek nearly a clone of Bruce Irvin. YMMV, but we've been desperately in need of new corners. Can't wait to go test Sherm out.
I took Irvin since he fits my TT and will be end game for me.

The thing is, Irvin is only playing one of two or three positions as Sub LB on defense. Sherman is playing five or six of the positions on defense, so he has more longevity, especially with his ability discount and stacks.

Great point about depth and flexibility. Sherman is the better pick than Irvin for 99% of players. I just think a TT like OP said they use is maybe the one situation where Irvin might be a better fit. But Sherman is good enough that I think it comes down to which position OP needs to upgrade

Yeah, you definitely can't go wrong with taking either of them. Great selections to be had.
Getting their boost is worth getting both of them. I made Irvin my BND pick as I think he likely would not be worth as much in the future. Sherman was cheap yesterday by making his set. Actually made 8 sets for Sherman, sold 7, and now have Sherman and 1.2 million more than I had yesterday (as well as Irwin as my BND pick).
