So do you just pick some plays and make a bunch of audibles so that you can audible to a formation and a play instead of constantly going in and out of practice mode menu? Do you run a play against every type of defense to see how well it works against certain defenses? I assume to get the best out of labbing and to be able to use that knowledge in a H2H game then one would have to be pretty good at knowing what defense your opponent is in? If I know a pass play works well against cover 3 then I need to know and be sure when my opponent is in cover 3. I know having two controllers is very important and I have 2. I want to get better at passing and with my pocket presence and at reading defenses and am going to start using practice mode a little bit more. It's a shame we still dont have a mut practice mode cause solos arent a good representation of a real H2H game cause solos arent hard and everything works for you. To those of you that do lab and use practice mode how much time do you or have you spent labbing?
A lot of my time labbing is seeing how zone‘s adjust to different hot routes. If I’m trying to hit a deep middle on cover 4, who do I have run a streak to hold the safties. If I wanna C route on Cover 2, who can I get the corner to bite down low, while I throw behind him. Where can I motion a guy to get stacked sets.
And so on and so forth, and what not
I have found H2H to be the best "lab"...I go in with a couple of formations and play combos...and that is what I run. If I find it doesn't work I make adjustments...I watch and learn from my opponent. If the game gets out of hand or I start wasting my opponents time...I thank them for the game, concede and move on...heck...at times you even win a couple.
