I'm literally playing this mode like it's a solo. Every game is a shootout and defense does absolutely nothing. Other than the win games stats, wins are meaningless.
I feel like they overcorrected last comp passes issues. Idk what the happy medium is, but hopefully they can find it

For me the happy medium is:
- reduce the size of Competitive Field Pass, so that it has less objectives, less levels and less rewards. The rewards that are retained should primarily be XP for the main field pass & the comp player rewards.
- add back in the pack & coin rewards for MUT Champions & Solo Battles, that scale based on how many wins you obtain each week.
Trying to funnel multiple distinct game modes into a single all encompassing competitive field pass, was the wrong call. The developers do not have enough levers to pull to find a 'happy medium' as things are currently designed.
Everyone plays Mut champs for objectives so no. This mode is completely water down

Even as someone who's bad to average skill wise, I agree that it seems to be an over correction.
I think EA either needs to bring back the M22 and before style of champs/weekend league rewards or get rid of champs entirely. Champs is in a weird place right now where the only point of it's existence is comp pass xp. Must win objectives aren't as bad if you have an unlimited number of games to do it like you do in h2h. And games don't become a huge grind fest if people have incentive to win like they do in h2h.

It would be a great idea to give us rewards for how many MUT Champs and solo battles we win just like they used to. The mode is too pointless and not worth playing other than grinding stats to the point it feels like a chore to do. Or at least make Season rewards better if you're pushing everybody there
It’s such an easy fix. Just make a universal objective for everyone that grants extra comp pass points for 10, 15, 20 wins in MUT champs. The guys winning games get the LTD players quicker. The guys that lose still get their stats and rewards slightly slower. You can’t tell me they haven’t thought of this. Wonder what their reasoning is.

The changes they have made - particularly to Solo Battles - feels awfully short sighted.
I have played Ultimate Team for a number of years; first FIFA and more recently Madden.
As new player, you start learning the game playing against the CPU at a beginner / rookie level. As you improve, you slowly increase the difficulty. When you have mastered that, you then move on-line, first playing seasons and Champs.
As you went through those steps, you received increasingly better rewards.
It is a well tried and tested mechanic for taking new players on the journey to become experienced ones.
But Madden has decided to remove that progression system; which cannot help your player base in the long run.

Just go back to last year comp pass that’s it
Last year was my first year playing MUT, so I have no point of reference other than that, but honestly last year was better than this. I am a below average online player, so last year I never played MUT Champs or Seasons and was able to get the Comp Pass player every time by spending extra time grinding Solo Battles vs. the guys that played online who typically got the player faster and often finished the Comp Pass, which I never did. This year I didn't play online in Season 1, and only got to AJ Terrell, and I am fine with that. In Season 2, I have played H2H each week, grinding for stats against FAR better players, or finding the player that wants to trade stats. I don't think the outcome will be much different. I will get to Fields, but probably not to Kearse.
