Hope you all had a great weekend. I'm a horrible user, more often than not I get in the way. Have gotten better, but got work to do. During the last WL I decided to switch up and user a CB. Figured this would limit my responsibility to one zone or receiver. Landed on usering the slot CB and calling plays where that CB was assigned to blitz. This worked out well as I could drop my CB back into coverage, but really had no responsibility. It allowed me to focus on my opponent's main target or tendency (once I see they like the post, cross...corner...whatever) and user my SCB to take that away. From time to time I would actually bring the player on the assigned blitz (not often as I would usually just screw it up). My thought is this may assist me with my user skills while not negatively impacting my defense. Any thoughts or experience is appreciated. Have a great start to the week all.
IMO - I wouldn't user a CB, you need the FS/SS/SLCB to run their assignments - or you can get torn up really easily. Using the SLCB in a designed user coverage play when they are supposed to blitz is also troubling, because your other positions will be jumping into your zone to help out and could leave routes open. My suggestion is usering a SUBLB that is a safety like Kam Chancellor or Derwin James or Isaiah Simmons. Another option is to just user the D-Line you can blitz sometimes and drop back to quick coverage too.

Thank you for the feedback. You bring up some great points. I have tried the D-Line before, but was horrible, but...maybe I need to give it more of a chance. Good call on being able to drop the D-Lineman into coverage at times.

I change users regularly throughout the game. I also use the Slot CB at times. I don’t see any issue with it when the CB is on a blitz because he has no assignment. I like to user blitz with him and then drop him into coverage at times. I also like to user Parsons off the edge or even out of the DT2 spot in Dime 2-3-6. Same thing, sometimes I loop around for sack and sometimes use him in coverage with Lurker on him, it just depends on what the play call looks like.
Sidenote:
If the offense uses a lot of PA then blitzing the slot cb will get home real quick for the sack.
Good luck man!
