I am having the same issue.  I was going to finally plow through the last several weeks and pick a legend.  Let me know if you figure anything out and I will do the same.

All the theme team stuff is glitching lineups.   Make a fresh new lineup and just have the cpu pick "best."  Use that lineup to get into the solos.  Iit's the only fix I've found.
