Best defense right now?

i drop 35 a game yet im 8-4 because I can’t stop anyone in defense 

I try mid blitz, 3/4 times it doesn’t come in and something like a post or corner is wide open for TD

i tried dollar, 4-3, big nickel over g 

there is no defense right now in this game

the best defense is just praying thats it, it doesnt matter what you pick, if you dont run mid blitz pinch and crash your line inside, and put your 2 outside lbs on flats, youre cooked. and even if you run that if they block the running back youre giving up a one shot td. look at henrys last video. on the line for 100k he won 49-45

2-4 double mug mid blitz  send whoever is manning the hb on a blitz.

Pinch crash dline, Zone or man up slot CB, hard flat DEs, user weak side safety.

It's not great but I get 1-2 stops a game.

Otherwise, time management. Run the ball on first down, throw short passes, chew clock. Score to end the half. If they score to start the half, milk it and win by 3. 3 minutes quarters is low enough you can milk a whole half pretty easy

All D are trash this year. Last year i used dollar all year long, mixing blitzes and zone cov D.

But this year dollars sucks. Now i run big nickel over G cov 4 d as my base defense and I adjust every down my coverage.

Other people are like sitting in man cov with their god squads with the best players, or spamming the glitch blitz from double a gap.

Dont take this the wrong way but football is a situational game. There shouldn't be a "best defense"?

Play down and distance. Match up with your opponent personnel-wise. Be a half-decent User. Surely that's the "best defense"?

I've had some success running quarters out of 3-2 dime. Set your curl flats to 25, flats to 5 and hook curls to 5. Shade underneath to turn outside guys into flats since they are closest anyway, next two db's from the outside put on curl flats. User one of the hook curls over the TE to cover the streak or post to the middle, your other hook curl will cover the drag. You can pinch and crash d-line for pressure or put them on contain to try to keep the qb in the pocket. For pressure, double mug dog 3 works pretty well. Get JJ watt and put him at DT and you'll be happy with his run defense and pressure, everyone has realized this though so the price has gone up a bit. But yea, in general if Henry can't figure it out, good luck! He's one of the best defensive Madden players of all time and he has used the 3-2 and nickel a lot if I'm not mistaken. The first patch will make things better, until then try this and hope you can get a couple stops.

Like I said, play down and distance. Match up your formation with theirs. Be a decent User. If the other guy wants to play meta bullshit all game then its actually pretty easy to counter? Players rarely get to do the same thing more than twice when I play them anyway. What I wouldn't do is try to counter cheese on O with something equally cheesy on D - there really shouldn't be a formation or play that stops EVERYTHING? That's not how football is supposed to work.

That is great in theory, but Madden hasn't been a proper football simulation in years.  Football logic doesn't equate Madden logic.  Not even remotely.

We've had 5+ years of sitting in Dollar, rushing 3 being able to stop 3 TE sets.  

I'd love a more realistic football experience, but I am not sure that will ever be the case moving forward.

Cover 2 Man > Press DB > Shade DB Underneath > Pass Commit

I hear you man. But I've been playing Madden for over 20 years and have never resorted to cheese plays. Yes, they work but can also be countered without using cheese yourself. That's all I'm saying. I get that Madden doesn't play like proper football but that doesn't mean you have to resort to exploits to be competitive. I don't anyway. And I still don't think there is or should be a formation or play that wins every time and that the best way to play on D is to make sure you've got the right personnel on the field and be a half-decent User.

I guess best D is a great O this year . Im not stopping anybody lol

What do yall think of 4 3 and mid blitz. Mid blitz never comes in if I play zone it has to be man I don't know why
