Best universal formation

My defense is my pride and joy.  I have backups and substitution for more man more zone better run defense pass rush height ect ect. 

I'm just curious thoughts on the best overall formation that can stop run and pass play zone or man ect. I'm on PS4 btw. I know dollar is meta but it's run defense lacks and if I switch back and forth from dollar to 4-6 I'm giving away the blue print of how to attack me lol. 

3-3-5 has the most potential but because it's cover 2,3,4 are "drops" they get abused and destroyed by any decent player

Basic nickle is extremely solid but I feel it's so obvious and basic 

Love to hear thoughts.

Additional info I haven't used all of the nickle or wierd dimes if anyone has 

Ideally I'd put 4 safeties, 1 MLB, 4 down lineman, and 2 corners on the field.

Lol no no, I don't want to spam a man blitz. I have the players. I just want a formation I'm comfortable running anything in with my best 11. Zone cover 2,3 ect..  man.... Man blitz and so forth. 

Currently I use 7 ish different formations using 2-5 plays in each one. All depending on what I'm putting an emphasis on stopping

Also I like the zero blitzes in 3-3-5 and dime more anyways

I run dollar defense with Jamal in the box with enforcer, so if anyone runs to much I can usually force a fumble.

For what you want 4-6-1 would probably work best. Beyond that big nickel is really good

I’d say THE big question coming out of the Gridiron Notes is whether in fact they’ve buffed the run blocking schemes sufficiently to penalize opponents who run Dime/Quarter/Dollar schemes as their base. That, plus the lack of jumping, defeated the entire purposes of ILBs, which is insane if you think about it - the offensive equivalent would be not trotting out any formations with TEs

You may want to try Big Nickel Over G with the packed set to "CB1" which gives you access to normal secondary coverage assignments.  The only down side is a weird thing that happens when you flip your play or (I think) pinch your defense... the two Safeties switch their position but keep their original zone assignment.  This is a coding error that's been around for years now.

I think I know which play your referring to. it's where your FS  comes all the way up to the line of scrimmage. When he's supposed to be deep coverage assignment. that irritates the hell out of me

Nah not me 10 hours ago. 

The 4-6-1 is which formation? And I try some big nickle it's deep zones are iffy also.
