My binder was maxed out. So I'm condensing low cards. Im only selling 79s and below that are worth my time. Otherwise there going into sets. But I'm drawn with the best usage for the 79s. 78s are a little concerning how to use as well. Any thoughts?
There aren't any compelling sets that use 79s at this stage, honestly. Sell em for >1k and you'll thank yourself later.
Unless you have reason to believe they'll be Team Diamonds set pieces. Which I don't, for what it's worth.
Eventually they'll add the sets. 4 82s or 83s for an 84/85. And so forth. Just gonna put then into the 82 sets. TOTW and Ultimate Pre-season. Selling any that will go for over 2000 coins. I'm sitting at 3.3 million. So don't need the coins.

I mean, it's math in the end, right? Let's take the Ultimate Preseason set, where 5x 79s give you an 82. Those 82s are going for roughly 4-5k right now. Most 79s are clearing north of 2k, so I'm not sticking five of em into the sets. I think 79s between 1.5 and 2.5k sell pretty quickly, so you'd probably be able clear our your binder pretty fast by selling. Good luck either way!

Isn't that the case for all sets?
I haven't found a card (from a set) that isn't cheaper to just get from the market.
I haven't played MUT in over 10-years, so I'm honestly just sharing my observation.
Everytime I go in with the intention of completing a set, I find that the card in the market usually goes for about 80-90% of the price it would cost to complete the set.
I also understand that if you are getting the cards from opening packs, you technically save that coin, but you also now have the option to sell that card and use the coin to purchase the card from the market.
Mostly I'm talking about building Heros-Champions, but I mostly don't know what I'm talking about :)

So - and not to brag - I've made 15+ 90 OVR Abraham Lucas Team Builders in the last week that netted me 100k+ after the sales tax on average. So there are always, in pockets, sets that cost more on the Auction House than it costs to build them. It just takes some observation and patience. That said, it's generally safe to say that the sets that are net profitable to build are "compound" in nature - meaning, they require multiple steps (ex: buy 83 Unstoppables for 6k, make 85 Unstoppables sets for 18k, make 88 Unstoppables for a total of 90k, and sell for 110k minimum, netting 10k profit).
One-step sets like 79s making 82s are never profitable for long, so you're right about that.

Sounds like I need to spend a little more time researching the options available.
I do greatly appreciate you taking the time to explain the logic behind the process, I admit that I failed to do a deep dive into the available sets.
You seem optimistic about the there are always being profitable sets available and I hope it's true, otherwise sets (in general) would only hold value for those cards that are rarely available in the market, or the prices don't reflect the cost of creation.
Anyhow, thanks.
As for team builders, they might be in the team diamond sets, so loading up on 82s not a bad idea. Another thing you can do is filter by team, sell off lions, chiefs, 49ers, ravens. Anything that is a really popular theme team. I've sold plenty of oline for 10k+ anything lower than 78-79 i'd just roll upwards through exchange sets or less than 75 make playbooks 3 players into a set and popular playbooks, lions, falcons, colts, packers, chargers sell for 4-5k
quickselling everything this year

Most of the time in years past, sets were always a loss. This year, that's the only way I've made coins. Like @jsmiller has said, I have made more Lucas cards than I can count. The way they have done sets this year, you have the option at multiple sets with the same cards. Meaning, once you have the cards you can complete any of the Teambuilders. Most of the Teambuilders would be a 100k loss at this point, but Lucas is the best RT in the game at the moment and going for around 400k.
Reason: typo

You guys are great!
I really appreciate the advice :)
With sets. 100% patience!! Some people want to hurry up and build a set not caring what they spend on it. Before the 2nd release of unstoppable I was stocking up on 83s, 85s, and the 88s. I made a killing!! I'm up to almost 4 million coins.
