Rumor has it that the next title update will finally patch the annoying contain loop meta. Usually patches come out either right after MCS Madden Bowl or the Tuesday after, so I wouldn't be surprised if we get the update tomorrow after the MCS is done, and if not it should be next week.
Guessing we will see a reemergence of the 335 wide (cub) once the update is live.

The patches they put out don't actually do anything. They've said they patched loop blitzes before, yet they are still being ran with success.

fair enough, but what I'm hearing is no second level contains allowed, only true d linemen and OLB's on the LOS default in the formation will be allowed to contain. So 335 wide you still would be able too because the OLBs are stock on the LOS, whereas 33 and dollar you would not be able to drag and contain.
These blitzes wouldn't matter as much if they would get the oline to block as intended.

true... however O line blocking has never been good in a madden game.

I don't run that loop blitz TBH but with everyone having EP or SP , I feel like it is a waste of AP to put ET or ETE and DON on my edge rushers. I don't like having to run cheesy blitzes though. I used to run 335W 2 years ago and prior but I found it to be too meta for me; I personally like to run off-meta stuff....but it would be nice to have the DBs not come flying in while the O linemen sit there and watch

yeah I agree, I run big nickel and usually only rush 4, sometimes blitz a slot or lb. I've found an edge threat combo that works better than the old stack everyone ran, so I use that on one edge rusher and then spend all the rest of my AP on coverage.

I am getting away from DON and running more El Toro and Speedster and honestly outting pass rush abilities more on my interior rushers because not everyone has SP in the middle of their O line

and that's why I just smack dab free stuff on the D-line pass rush is just not good as it was launch to me run abilities are cool but that's it as for the o-line it needs a massive overhaul running backs not blocking anybody certain formations having the tackles drop back to far not block the closes defender towards them. I do see chip block animations from time to time but it takes too much time if it's a initial read.
Ok so what do you think EA is thinking? Dez ran that glitchy cheese dollar blitz all game long...tbh, when Henry needed a stop he did the same thing.....so would EA patch this or would they want people to emulate what Dez did to keep their interest in the game?
BTW I watched the replay of the game, not live....but what a joke. This wasn't football. This game was a prime example of AI glitching. This just highlights the awful weakness in EA's coding
The dopes calling the game were talking about how awesome Dez played....all the guy did was take advantage of the cheese that we all know about. IMO this was REALLY bad for EA. A showcase of their coding problems
BTW this game also showed how ridiculous those KO abilities are. Balls that were caught got knocked out after possession was established . Broken abilities, broken game. I really hope you are right, that they do fix this stuff but I doubt it. Partly because they don't know how to fix it properly and partly because they want people to copy the cheese

It's a bad look when pros abuse the AI. These are people who are supposed to be good at the game, and the game is supposed to be simulation football.

Completely agree. This was a really bad look for EA.
I watched it again and the AI is so inconsistently broken. I could care less who won but I saw so many KO's light up after completed passes for Dez that ended up counting as dropped passes while Henry's KO's lit up but didn't knock anything out. Again, I had no dog in this fight. But wow, this was a W for Dez but a L for EA

My personal opinion is that nothing will change as long as EA has a monopoly on the NFL game market. And i know it's not a true monopoly, but a contract.
This is why i'm super excited for 2K to come back in the ring and make another NFL game, because even to this day ESPN 2K5 is still my favorite one. Hard to believe its been almost 20 years since then, but here we are lol. Sure, the game had its issues and i'm sure the new one will have them too. But the key here is that it will light a fire under both their asses to make the best game possible, or one will run away with all the players.
