Breakout challenges - for whales and super players only?!

First time playing MUT since '20, and I'm ready to call it quits. I've noticed this significant increase in difficulty in solos and solo battles each week. The first two weeks with a 78 ovr squad i gave up 14 combined points in 24 solo battle games on Legend. My squad is now an 85 ovr and I'm lucky to keep the cpu under 14 points PER GAME. And this is playing the low (76) overall cpu teams. The same thing happens in solos. I upgrade my team significantly and the solos are harder. It just make upgrading feel pointless. Daily challenges take twice as long as they did when the game dropped. It's just not fun.

When solo battles first dropped and gave good rewards for top 100, I finished top 25 almost weekly. I know all the glitchy cheese. The game just flat out cheats now to inflate engagement time.

I'm a 84 OVR with NMS (except for the CFB + Madden 25 bundle). My skills are mediocre especially after a 15 year hiatus from Madden.

While I did pretty well - with a bit of grinding - to get a full count of stars (Legends, TOTW, Boom, Team Captains etc.) I totally - and I mean TOTALLY- fail with the new challenges. I also manage to fulfill the requirements for the Season 2 Field Pass alright (have reached Level 34 or 35) even though I hate the INT requirements.

I managed the first of the Achane challenges after several tries but the second already gives me massive problems. No matter what I try (Stretch, ISO, shifting players pre-play) I get only a few yards in the second challenge that requires 20+ yds rushing in 2 attempts. Best was 19 yds with a Stretch only to be tackled for loss in the next play. Most plays are 2-3 yds with a lot of TFLs by the CPUs in the next try. Tried at least 25 time with no luck.

Switching over the other Breakout challenges section and I don't even manage to complete a pass except a few lame drag routes which are not enough to get those 4 stars. I have Hines and a few other 86 speed receivers but no luck.

Is it just me - being a lame mediocre player - or has the difficulty being bumped up?

I like to hear your opinion. Thx! (yeah, I know....gidgud....but that doesn't really help me)

I did have to rerun the 'get twenty in two' a few times to win, but these were nothing in comparison with the Ultimate challenges. Some of those required an insane amount of luck for my 84 OVR team to keep up.

I also don't treat the challenges the way I would treat a real game. If I throw over the top and my receiver doesn't get separation or my quarterback doesn't throw to the target, I just restart. I hot-route to drags when a drag can score a touchdown. Other than that, I'm shooting for the moon.

These solos are ok crack.  I have a chance and he feels like he's stuck in glue

So other than the rushing ones, they weren't so bad.  The rushing ones were painful

I can't express how much 91 speed Tyreek helped in these.  He was 1 play streak tds and was barely beating the guy

Unlike many others I actually enjoyed Madden 25 after a 15 year hiatus from the game.

But these challenges make me think it's time to quit again and just abandon this unrealistic crap.
For the casual gamer it is just impossible to finish these challenges successfully. While it is a game I have a pretty good understanding of Xs and Os.

CJ gets tackled at the LOS at all inside runs. No matter what play or blocking scheme I call. The defense cuts through my O-line like a hot knife through butter. Well, in all fairness my O-line is the weakest part of the team.

I managed to finish two more challenges with 4 stars but that's it. I can dink and donk my way down with drags and crossing routes which are kinda "broken" in this game. Deep passes...no way. Not a single completion.

Stupid enough I also listened to those smart Youtubers that we would get more or less a "90 speed" free WR and that it would be a good thing to sell your WRs before the market crashes. Well, I sold my fastest WR with 87 and cashed in 200k net coins for Reggie Wayne. Probably a 87 speed WR wouldn't help me much either but now 86 speed is the fastest WR I have.

I only have 2 mil coins and that takes me nowhere to improve my team so I can finish all challenges with 4 stars.

I'm really angry and I don't mind a certain level of grinding (hey, I only have a 10-12 hrs day job so I got plenty of spare time...not) but I'm just not skilled enough and way to clumsy to master the challenges.

Time to sell the PS5 which I only bought for CFB and Madden. I was really looking forward to CFB but haven't played it anymore since Madden 25 started. There is just no time grinding hours every day for both games.

These challenges were definitely tough. I ended up swapping out my strategy items. Went with "Pave The Way" , ( + 1 Run Block & + 1 Run Block Power for my RT/ RG ). Put John Harbaugh in the Coach slot. ( + 1 Run Block Finesse & + 1 Run Block  Power for entire team ).  Then used "Out My Way" giving my HB an extra + 1 Trucking. Made things a whole lot easier. Only problem was my guy ran too far so I had to take a sack to complete the pass for 25 yard requirement.

Just an idea but I often find CPU challenges involve a psychic defense that sets up knowing what play I've called. I'll  call a play, the D will stack against it but an audible  gets results. Might be worth a try?

I tried that many times. Best results was 19 yds. Otherwise it's either a TFL or 1-3 yds gain. 

Out of frustration I just played one of the challenges once more. Reached the required 40 yds. passing and 30 yds rushing ending up at their 1 yd line.
I ended up losing 9 yds. on the next 4 plays. FAIL.

Agree that these are not too bad. Also NMS with almost only either free cards or BND from free packs. I also have zero skill level (I do offline grinds so son can enjoy online games). I will admit having Daniels at QB makes the running challenges really easy. Offline he basically makes 20+ yards with every run Without doing anything fancy.

81 OVR squad currently and still running Tebow at QB. I had the best results going five wide and sitting in the pocket until I can find a seam to take off. Some took a couple try’s but it wasn’t too awful.

Here's 2 run plays that works well for solo grinding, You need a FB I use Alstott. Also I use RP Brooks and CJ2K for my HB. 2nd play is called FB inside but it's actually your RB2. I switch between the 2 so the RB is never tired
