Why are these kind of packs such a common thing now?

First of all, lets call it what that is, its gonna be three 91s for literally 99 percent of people. BUT
Why is it worded that way? How, if at all, is that any different than just "3 91+OVR FA players?

You’re right. They both say exactly the same thing but one has the term “97 FA” in it.
I believe EA does that because they have different odds. You might only have a 5% chance to pull a 97 from a regular 91+ slot. But you the 91+ OR 97+ slot might have a 20% chance at a 97+ ovr player. Now I just made those odds up so actual odds are probably different.
look I know hating EA is cool and all but there’s so much bs to legitimately hate EA for that its silly to hate something that isn’t actually happening. Almost every OR pack has been 49%-51% split between the dud and the great pull… the only one that wasn’t I think was the genki pack and that was still a 15% chance.
Just hopped on to check, that pack you're talking about where for 99% of players is gonna be 3 91s.... it has a 51% chance at a 97+....

It might have that "chance" (thats if we even believe in them ethically which is a big if) but dont confuse that with 51 percent actually getting it. I was talking about the results. You know, the reality of it. If you, me and everyone on this board buys it, then we go watch ten streamers do it, and onlike two or three people get more than three 91s (which is what would happen, give or take) then how does that matter?
For example, alot of people use the logic you are with something like the powerball, where its a one in 350million or whatever chance (which is of course obviously much worse odds) but its really in actuality even worse than that.
Because looking at it that way, and similarly here, can kind of mislead people to think, 51 percent chance should mean 51 percent of people pull it. Thats not true at all, that assumes it IS in escrow somewhere and HAS to be pulled by SOMEONE. In reality, no one has to, and 99 percent (or close to it) wont.

The fact is they post the odds always and they are almost always horrible. These odds are in fact pretty good.

Wait, which point are you disagreeing with, that they may simply be dishonest about the odds in the first place (which well never know for sure and have no way to verify one way or the other)

You can partially verify it by just looking at the market. Tons of 97s up all day for a fairly crappy promo.
Also if you are saying they are lying about the odds, why not lie all the time? Why post pack odds at 3% all year?

Literally the first thing I said is there is loads of stuff to legitimately hate EA for. Hating them for ‘making OR packs that are lying’ is factually incorrect, those things have significantly higher odds than normal, all complaining about made up stuff does is dilute all the legitimate gripes there are.
