As the title says, I cannot load challenges. I get some weird H2H challenges that were done months ago, and those are my only options. Does anyone have a workaround for this?

The common issue here is the inclusion of TTAS players on your team. If you only include non-TTAS players in your roster, it should work.

EA sucks is the problem. I had to make a new roster of best overall to finish UL and FA challenges.

If the loading screen bugs out in such a manner you typically will need to log out and back in again. Be sure to collect your rewards from prior week, both MUT Champs and any H2H that might be lingering. Typically clearing those and reloading MUT will help remove the blockers. No real rhyme or reason why, other than this being a poorly coded EA game running on a decade+ old Frostbite (v3.0?) engine.
If all else fails and you start getting kicked from the various Challenges (or Solo Battles), you will need to attempt to redo your roster if/when you see that dreaded "server cannot process your request at this time" generic error message. I cannot say for certain, but i think the lag/menu issues you are experiencing might be different than the roster glitch.
