CB1 vs CB2 - How do you decide?

In your lineup, CB1 is on the left, and CB2 is on the right. However, in game this is reversed, CB1 is now on the right side of the field/TV, CB2 is on the opposite, and that  causes your CB2 to cover their WR1. 

Do you take that into consideration in how you order your CB's? Does it change based on the player? For example, I feel Deion plays better in CB2 than he does in CB1. Is it all in my head?

Chargers TT would be Cromartie, King, Hayward, and I can use Deion with Chargers chem. Interested in what the best order for them would be.

King needs to play in the slot. As for the others, I would put Cromartie at CB2 and Either Deion or Hayward at CB1

You just want Cromartie covering the best receivers imo

I usually swap around during each game, if I find my opponent throws to the right the most I’ll put my better guy over there, I run zone.

My cb1 and 2 are deion and NTL and theyre both picking machines either way, so im happy……..and u can always turn off auto flip if u dont want ur cb’s flipping

I use my best DB on CB2 since majority of players I play throws to the left side

If you’re playing zone then you just have to figure out where your guys play the best. A month ago Woolen did nothing for me at CB1 and I moved him to CB2 and he was insanely good. 

If you’re playing man then you can go into coach suggestions and lineup your CB’s based on Speed, Height, etc.

I usually base it around which abilities players get, I run a mix of cover 3 and man so I like my outside guys to have the deep man and deep out zone knockout abilities since they alternate between zone and man. And I haven't tested it a ton but I've noticed that taller corners tend to play better for me in the slot.

This all depends on your scheme but I'll add this, and Y'all tell me if you disagree :

I don't think CB1 vs CB2 is as critical of a choice to make as Outside vs Slot.. and on top of that nickel over vs dollar vs 3-3 vs 6 -1  vs etc... 

When you're not blitzing him, you're slot CB will be covering crossers and corners most of the time if you're regularly playing against people running meta offenses out of tight and bunch.   

The CPU runs stock bench, flood, slants, etc which all have the slot wr/te running some sort of short man-beating route.  

edit: and STICK, jesus, the cpu loves stick, how could I forget. 

Your CB1 and CB2 will often have streaks, fades, posts, and maybe some motion slants/drags/corners (if you're playing against someone sweaty).   If they're good, they will be constantly subbing guys in and out of different positions to prevent you from adjusting and you will just have to notice and make your own subs.  The average player however doesn't do this often. 

It may seem intuitive to stick your "best" CB that's tall and has all the cool abilities as your "CB1", but you should really consider putting them in the slot because depending on who you play that's where their scheme will be encouraging them to go with the ball most of the time. 

For example, on my Broncos TT Pat Surtain is my slot CB bc he's 6'2 and gets short route KO discounted. If I wasn't doing a broncos TT the new Antonio Cromartie card with discounted inside shade would 100% be my slot CB. 

 I don't play online often but when I do I always get the meta sweats so there's usually a slot WR or TE on a corner route with short in elite.  Surtain being 6'2 and having short route KO and Pick Artist ensures that if I can force my opponent to settle for his quick man beating read , I will have my fair share of picks and KO's being aggressive with underneath mcv instead of having to play chess with people in cover 4 all game long. 

The biggest thing I have to remind myself is that Madden is not real life football. 

Also you're going to get agged no matter how tall your DB's are.. worry more about abilities.

I just run 2 good outside cbs then It doesn't matter.
