Pros: It looks way better and the integration with packs and sets is great.
Con: It sucks for sniping / making coin. Searches default to newest and you cant quickly buy from the other available options tab. You can probably snipe faster on console

Not everyone is a lemming. I realize that our days are numbered on the old gen version of the game (where things like defense and user skill are still possible). I also realize that many prefer the "sim" style of gameplay forced on you with EA's current gen version of Madden. But it's not for everyone. And as long as EA offers the old gen version of the game... at full price... there should be some expectation of service.
But I'm sure all the current gen players love the game when they're getting picked apart up and down the field all game long by a skilled Gun Trips TE player running an unstoppable scheme... where the only hope of winning is to get RNG fumbles or DLine interceptions off tipped balls.
Companion App or not, I'll continue playing the old gen version (on my current gen console no less)... for as long as it's available. The current gen version of the game is unplayable.

Seeing as consoles were very tough to come by when they were first released, old Gen versions should still be used and updated. I don’t remember EA telling anyone that old Gen would be lacking in these type of things.

Thanks for your concern about my financial well-being. I'm a chemical engineer and I head up new product development and manufacturing for a biotech. I have six kids and all of them (plus me) have current gen consoles.
I suspect you're just mad that someone is calling you what you are... a casual player who likes playing a slowed down version of the game. There's nothing wrong with that - don't be embarrassed.
EDITED TO ADD... what short attention spans kids have these days to describe a post with four paragraphs as "a novel"? Its millennials like you that caused EA to shift the entire game towards what we have now on current gen. Kids complaining about every pass over the middle getting picked off or being baited into bad throws. Why do you think linebackers no longer get jump animations without Lurker? Why do you think DBs drop so many easy interceptions without Pick Artist? It's because little Timmy needs to feel like he can compete.

Listen man I agree that I wish they’d supported the old gen version for longer. But please stop playing those of us that play the version of the game with better competition casuals. It weakens your argument with the constant ad homs

Hey man... I call them as I see them. I've played the game on both consoles... A LOT. And it's my opinion that if you actually prefer the current gen version, then you either weren't very good at the fast version of the game... or you just don't play a lot. There can be no other conclusion.
I understand that comp players and streamers had to make the switch to current gen. But watch the tournaments... other than Henry... there was almost NO defense. It is damn near impossible to stop a skilled player from driving down the field almost at will. How can anyone enjoy that? Unless of course you don't care about defense and just want an easier time playing offense.
Tell me... if EA provided a choice on Current Gen to A) play the game as is.. or B) play the older version of the game but with all the new bells and whistles... don't you think the majority of the better playrers would prefer option B?

Okay casual. <-- is that short enough?
It's good that they updated the app and finally upgraded some things in the app, but it's still wonky. Like: The bid and buy now are in reverse order, it's automatically filtered to newest first, the search is filtered in reverse order, and you can't delete searches right now.
The app just seems like it wasn't ready to rollout yet or they didn't test it thoroughly. Hopefully they release a patch asap.

New consoles have been out for 3 years and are readily available. I'm with you for the first couple years, but we're past that now.
