I had 6 mil last year and they had the same post up and i only got $90 so its misleading unless they actually were doing it which idk

On dms they offered it to me but I changed my mind. I've always sold through them and got the price I was offered TBF. Wouldn't use anyone else now
As someone who grinds ranked and Mut Champs weekly, I can certainly tell you that it will be a struggle fest if you do not buy packs to keep up. Its really sad. IF you truly are NMS, just run 61 with Simmons, Kirkland and Seau having lurk artist, deion and denzel with 1 AP pick artist and you're set lol
You either need time or money to spend on this game to win. People spend money because they dont want to sit on the game for 8 hours a day. Most people already have a 9-5.

its either i sell and get auction house banned for the 3rd straight year or keep saving to like 10 mil or more and then do it and get banned later

Eh, I do maybe 20 min a day of random solos and play h2h when I have time on the weekends if I'm not rolling superstar with buddies. Easiest grind in years for nms, I'm 88 with multiple 91s on both sides and don't feel the need to put more time in. Muts always been scheme over team imo, and unless there's a massive difference like a 95 vs a 85 I don't see the need for the new shiny or to spend money
I have not boughten a pack since Mut 21. I am NMS, have a 91 ovr squard right now (hyrbid pats/most feared TT), and a coin just around 23.5 million. So to answer your questions, yes you do not have to buy packs to have a good team. Does buying packs help expedite the process? Absolutely it does, but if you know how to make shrewd investments, work the market and buy players that have good stats but are not the highest tier cards (aka budget beasts), it is very doable.
While prior to Tuesday and AP increase, this honestly felt like it was really the "year of the budget squad", as speed did not seem to matter as much in comparison to years past, and given the ap caps, the highest tier players did not have too many different abilities then your 89'-90's.
I have yet to run into a team full of 95's yet, but i have played a few people who have a handful of them, and I long as you do not press or take too long to make passes, you'll be just fine for now (though this may change if 95's begin to fly out of packs during blitz).
