Day 1 passing abilities

Madden 23 is the first year I really started grinding MUT, and I started a little late in the year. At the beginning of 24 will there be ability slots off rip? I got Shroud RP and the pre order Josh Allen, if not then I'm going to start grinding regs with no ability QB's for the next couple days to get used to it. Also, are we thinking it will go back to 12 ap?

Most likely 12 ap, and good qbs will probably get 2 ability buckets, that first trash bucket with stuff like energizer, and one with a couple okay passing abilities. Could also be 3 buckets as the madden is focusing on abilities more and more.

It’s hard to say for sure without knowing the AP limits, or how everything is going to play out. we probably will have only a handful of guys with any relevent abilities at launch

Last year to start most players only had 1 or 2 ability buckets for their position specific abilities. At least for QBs, most of these abilities sucked compared to what we got later in the year. I would definitely recommend getting used to playing without good abilities.

Okay gotcha this is what I was thinking, thank you.

Typically the QB ability at launch is SFL. I'm not sure what players, if any, will be able to get that immediately. The decrease in overalls and making abilities effectiveness based on a player's ratings, EA is trying to slow down how quickly we get to end game ratings and abilities. It leaves some unknowns for us on what abilities, rating thresholds, and player archetypes will be meta at launch, but this is great for the longevity of the game.

dont worry about abilities till a bit later. training is gonna be so expensive so get whatever ur QB has to offer but nothing is gonna be too meta day 1

Bro what do you mean? Abilities are everything, ofc I'm going to worry about them lol Passing without a velocity ability is complete dogshit...

He’s not wrong.  First few weeks of MUT training points are at a premium.  Most players you’ll have on your team with abilities will be from the headliner promo.  People are still trying to team build and coin stack build at first.
