DD A gap chz

The new ”technology” in this game is great and I enjoy myself playing solos. But every now and then I get this heinous idea to play online, idk why I do it because I know everyone is just running the same play on defense over and over. You know honestly I have to say maybe we should stop pointing the finger at EA when it’s the community that ruins the game. the people that abuse stuff to get an unrealistic advantage, and I’m not saying they should be banned but atleast penalized in their play calling schemes. why do I have to constantly slide the line on offensive and double team the same guy just to get 2 seconds in the pocket. 
 

Do you think this game would be more engaging if you were only allowed to call a play twice on offense and defense. Do you think the player base would retain? The glitches and everything can eventually be worked out but at the end of the day it’s the people that exploit that ruin it for others. And it sucks, even more so for the working class that play this game.

My opinion on this type of thing might be a little controversal so apologizes if I offend anyone who spams/exploits this type of thing of has an "anything at all costs to win mentality" 

but think it's skill-less trash that's used as a crutch by people who can't run a real D or make adjustments to save their life about 99 percent of the time. I hate anything like it and actively ruins the game. Some set ups aren't much "better" than the true nanos of old like Mike Scrape Press 3. Ive long been of the opinion that in a perfect world EA should either be making it clear certain things are not allowed in H2H play and enforcing it or taking things they cant get right of H2H at the very least. They try to hard to make things "real" and all the pre-play adjustments just end up breaking something. It's been like this as long as I've played MUT H2H and it's a shame because the game while it has plenty of other issues can be so majorly impacted by ONE play/play type. 

I don't think anything like it would be allowed in any other competitive game (Madden to me isnt really competitive in the sense Apex Legends or something is  a lot to due with how they handle stuff like this) It's counterable but the effort to counter 2-3 braindead button presses doesnt even come close to evening out. I win more than I lose without using meta garbage and I get so SO sick of the same BS every game I often quit out the instant I see this trash even though I know I can beat a lot of the time, used to do the same with the old nanos. 

As a side note LOL @EA wanting Madden so desperately to be a heavy weight comp game with a big comp following and this is what they present us with.  MCS  events top out at the some of the random higher tier Apex streamers on a random day and most wouldn't "watch" if we didnt get twitch drops. 

I'll end with giving EA some credit in it actually seems like they are trying to fix gameplay issues more so than most years this year but maybe It's just because I missed most of last year.  I'll also say besides not giving us champion cards at the end of passes (the whole reason for BDN remember guys? LOL) I think MUT has been content rich and offered a good bit besides their on going saga of being unable to get rewards to people properly.

I’ve always agreed with this. Now EA is definitely a problem with their false advertising, but the gameplay issues are 90% the community’s doing.   

It literally doesn’t matter how good they make the game, there will always be a handful of people that discover new cheese and will spread it like wildfire until everyone is playing the exact same.   

There’s football enthusiasts, and then there’s gamers. Gamers will always ruin it for true football strategists. This entire gaming society is built on copying what they see on YT and using as little of their brain as possible.

You enforce quality play with quality programming, not mods or modes.

The nano-type blitzes work because the action and reaction of offensive linemen doesn’t have the logic or engagement necessary to impede A- or B-gap rushers effectively, even when the correct line calls are made (which calls should be necessary, by the way). The reaction of defenders from the snap is too quick and unrealistic, and defenders in close quarters aren’t stumbling over each other as should be the case at times given the typical chaos in the box. It’s not as simple as overwhelming numbers canceling out a proportional amount of the lesser numbered squad, but Madden makes it work that way.

I'd love it if we were forced to use different plays and such and these disengage blitzes or nanos (or whatever you want to call them didn't exist).  

I love online play too much, so I feel I have no choice but to (1) learn how to do them, (2) learn how to counter them, and (3) beat them at their own game.  

Playing offline isn't an option - it's too boring.

then can we all agree they should make a game mode separate from all the chaos; no individual adjustments, specific Plays disabled, no abilities, just barebones madden and call it hardcore mode? If this was in MUT it would generate so much hype. I’m sick of looking at these players like their Pokémon trying to figure what ability I should equip on them. Then maybe just maybe we actually see who would have true talent at the game.

No adjustments is absurd, but having a 7 or 8 play cool down on offense and 3-4 play cool down on defense would be nice.  No recent play view.  All Madden.  No abilities.  I could get down with that.

If we bump this post maybe the right people will see it and give us what we want

Don't hate the player, hate the game.  Seriously.  EA cultivates this toxic bullshit by doing less than the bare minimum and delivering an unfinished, buggy as product.  Can't really fault people for looking for any advantage, no matter how small, in what is intended to be a competitive NFL "simulation" game -- it resembles the NFL, but nothing about this buggy ass mess is fair, balanced, let alone competitive or truly fun.  Nobody is going to sit back, decades from now and yearn for that exquisite Madden 25 experience.

The game needs to be rewritten from the ground up, but that's not really feasible given the yearly release cycle, not to mention the ancient Frostbite game engine that's from liek the PS3 era of consoles.  Absolutely nothing can or will change as long as EA retains the exclusive licensing rights with the league.  Our only hope is that the NFL opens things up, perhaps giving 2K Games a shot.  EA will pay any amount of money to not have to compete, so i'm sure these negotiations won't be easy.

Nobody truly understands the long-term damage this does to the brand.  There's an entire generation of kids missing out on learning (and loving) this great game.  Sure, there's stuff liek Fusion Football in Roblox, which my 11 year old plays an awful lot with his buds.  Sadly, Madden just ain't it, but it's hardly the community's fault.  We're all definitely a toxic bunch, but the fish rots from the head down, IMO.

MUT is far too difficult for casual players, you basically have to spend money (or spend half yer day living in the auction house) in order to field a competitive roster, but by the time you've played enough Ultimate Team to truly understand what is going on, most people will have noticed all the glaring warts and eventually lose interest, because this is quite frankly not a good game.  Sadly, it's literally the only game in town.

I like the "cool down" mode they implemented a couple years back.  I don't think there should be "cool down" in solos (anything not H2H) as the solos are ridiculous...so spamming the same thing over and over is about the only way to get through these ridiculous things with any sense of time management.

If you want a more realistic game, taking out adjustments and having cooldowns on plays is not the way tho. 
I couldnt disagree more with saying that the gameplay issues are the community's fault. The "meta" of a game can and will always base on what the game allows first. 
The problem right now is the "no matter how good they make the game" portion, because the game is playing terrible. 
Tackling is completely bugged with playermodels glitching, players hitsticking air, tackled players getting tackled in the air again before touching the body, defenders are dumbing out with balls thrown at them, zones are useless even after the patch, terrible dropped user picks, you have another "scum kick" because both receivers dumb out when the ball is kicked right in front of their feet. I have countless clips of plays that would make a younger me throw a controller because they are so stupid and buggy. 
The AI in this game is absolutely trash. 

Its obvious to me that people will resort to running what works. Again, the game and its Devs define what works, not the community because the community can not make things work or change them, they just apply whats being put in front of them. 
Last year it was corner routes that at some point weren't covered by anything without heavily adjusting to take them away and even that didnt work sometimes - so of course people will use them because them game allows and entices them to. Pros and streamers figure it out, its being broadcasted everywhere, people use it. Simple. 
But why is it that nothing covers corners? You'd have to ask EA that, not Henry or Kiv. 
Lets take mid blitz this year. This game came out with absolutely no defense at all. It wasn't existent. So if people can throw TDs by chucking it into triple coverage and making terrible reads all game that should be punished but arent, people will use whatever is available to stop getting dunked on. 

Me, I'm happy to play people that spam 1-2 plays. Especially mid blitz. Those are usually the quickest wins because as with everything, there's ways to destroy mid blitz and have people come out of it or quit. If someone is able to beat me with 1 or 2 plays - wether it be on O or D - I feel like thats my problem, not him cheating me because he takes advantage of something thats in the game. If I want to get better, I figure out how to counter it. If however someone starts adjusting Mid Blitz in a way that it takes away my counter to his Mid Blitz - Kudos, thats skill gap. 

I could give you at least 5 unique defensive formations people stayed in against me and beat me with it. Way more than that on offense. You can win with anything this year and its actually easier to win games than ever - which is bad. But if one thing's not the problem this year its Mid Blitz and Bunch.
Its the ridiculously bad mechanics and AI of this game that mitigate bad reads, randomize the game with weird fumbles or a HB glitching through 3 linemen that had him dead to rights or a corner not animating for a ball that is thrown at him (or being forced to commit to a run on an RPO instead of being able to react to the play playing out). 

EA will however not ever going to give us a better product unless the revenue from microtransactions drops which is the real root of evil in this game IMO. 
They dont have a single incentive to make a better game as long as that revenue (thats where they make their money, not from sales) is coming in from people buying bundles every week.

Well it’s seems like we’ve hit when an immovable object meets and unstoppable force. theres a large majority of people that do not want to play against mid blitz for every play and there’s people that either don’t mind it or do it themselves. what I’m asking for is for EA to cater to everyone since this is the only football game on the market with nfl rights. The game didn’t make anyone toxic, they themselves are the toxic people. Last year I had the pleasure to play against two top streamers. Just que’ed and got into a game with them, I’m average so I didn’t know how I got paired up with them. To just be shit talked consistently with out me saying a word or doing anything but simply just playing the game is blasphemy. Even got banned in one of their streams because I asked how are you playing against veterans when you are in legends. EA does do a poor job when choosing creators to help build their brand but I digress. All I’m asking is that everyone gets what they want in this bumpy ass ride we’re all on.

I completely agree with everything you’re saying I logged on today and saw that they were promoting a most feared tournament and the first thing I thought was how could anyone compete? It’s just all randomness of everyone probably spamming that mid blitz play and I don’t think that is a test of who is the better person,  it’s just who’s going to be the luckiest 

so I really don’t see the point of promoting a tournament when everyone can just run the same play, the game definitely needs to have some kind of penalty for spamming one play especially on defense.  
correct me if I’m wrong I believe they promoted something last year where the game recognized if you were running the same play but obviously thats definitely is not a thing this year
