Defensive Rally/PR Points Testing

Some “theorycrafting” here... In theory if I had 4 Defensive Rallies, that would guarantee DON lighting up on 3rd and 4th down as every point would be guaranteed to be restored? If you could guarantee massive pressure from 2/3 dons on 3rd and 4th down that may change the ball game here…

I run 3 D Rally's sometimes but the problem is they have to be on the field for the ability to work. So the most you could have is 2 if you want your edge rushers to benefit. I run Simmons and Seymour both w 0 AP D rally and honestly I do not see my edge rushers affected by D rally often. I run nickel over mostly so in theory I should have 2 extra pass rush points on Bruce Smith, D Ware, Simmons, and Seymour on 3rd and 4th down. I have not seen that so far so I will try to continue checking

If your pass rush points are full it does nothing.

Does the extra pass rush point help AI controlled defenders or is this only beneficial to user controlled linemen?

Now I’m curious about this because the only yellow bar I’ve seen on Bruce Smith with his 0AP Extra Credit. Do you think that might be what you’re seeing as well?

Yeah I actually have 4 D-Rally equipped right now and it will give you full pass rush points on every 3rd/4th down. DON only uses two bars so it should light up but you’re not necessarily going to get major pressure every 3rd/4th down because of O-line abilities/attributes and O-line resistance build up. It’s not going to hurt you by any means but there’s still an element of ”dice rolls” that you won’t win every matchup that you should on either side of the line.

You can put Defensive Rally on your edge rushers as well but it’s 2AP each unless they get it discounted. You can also put it on Field General MLB’s but nobody is spending the 4AP on that and most aren’t using MLB’s anyway. 

I think the description on the actual ability is misleading. It states, “Defenders with this ability will grant a bonus pass rush point to all defensive linemen on any 3rd or 4th down.” I don’t think anyone gets a “bonus” pass rush point, I believe a more accurate description would be that it ”restores a used pass rush point”. I‘m going to test it out some more, if there are really yellow bars added from D-Rally then the term “bonus” would be correct.

But you can't really have more than 2 on the field at the same time unless, like you said, you put it on your edge rushers, right?

So realistically the most you could use is 2 of them ....I dunno...I didn't notice a huge difference on 3rd and 4th and I still had my pass rushers not always have full points on 3rd or 4th

It affects AI and user controlled defenders.

It all just depends on where you put your AP. I play zone and only use 2AP on my secondary/SubLb’s. That leaves 10AP for the D-line.

I can get 4 D-Rally for 4AP (2X0AP DT’s & 2X2AP edge rushers) and split the other 6AP on ET/ETE and DON. Richard Seymour would be the only one without DON or ET (I might put El Toro on him but it’s 3AP).

I actually think running 3 D Rally is where I will settle. I just need some more time to figure out how I like it.

Great job, and thx for this! Dumb question--how do you tell how many pass rush points you have? You used to be able to check your opponents OVR and stuff but they took it out this year.
