Desperately need help with defense

My friend and I have been playing MUT squads since madden 19 with me on offense and him on defense. we’ve had a decent amount of success in past years but this year the defense is just getting killed to the point where we lost to a team full of golds and silvers last night. his defense right now is a 81 overall and we’re running a 4-3 out of the bears playbook but still it seems like every single play there’s at least 2 or 3 routes wide open. Any advice on what we can do to fix this?

Try getting the Steelers d playbook, and then running “Zero blitz”. I’ve played squads with my friend whos d is 84 and we get 5+ sacks and at least a pick every game. Hope this helps!

I’ll definitely give it a shot, Can’t be worse than what we’re using now😂 also would be great if my defense could react to the ball and stop getting mossed every play
