Does playing players out of position drop attributes?

Slotting a ROLB as a DE drops a players OVR, but does it drop their attributes and does this matter?

I have questioned this as well. Personally I don‘t think it affects the player, just the team overall for anyone looking to max that out. Obviously if they don’t have the secondary position then they won’t receive strat or theme team contributions. This is my personal thought though and have no clue.

I don’t believe it does. Some players are a better overall total at some OOP spots which is weird.

I have compared the numbers on several different players and seen no drop.
