Does Secure Protector help with run blocking?

Tony Gonzo can get SP for 1 ap, but I never block with my TEs. Would putting SP on him help his Run blocking or no?

It would negate inside/outside stuff if he's blocking a player with it

Yes, it will help to counter the various X-factors and D-line abilities, especially things liek Inside Stuff & No Outsiders in both run and pass game, however it's not 100% consistent.  Secure Protector tends to prevent the insta-shed superwins, but you'll still see the defender's abilities activate, even if they don't always win off the snap.  However, if you want a pure run-blocking ability, i would suggest something liek Vanguard.  Bo Jackson (TE) as well as Heath Miller both get this, certainly others, as well, those are just the ones I've personally used.

Perhaps Honorary Lineman would also help, but this is primarily against DBs, so it'd work best on outside runs, HB Stretch, etc.

Thanks bro! Yeah i had been rolling with TE Bo at FB with Combine Vanguard and had a lot of fun with it, but ended up moving that XFactor to Hines and Terry Yac em, I pass too much when I play H2h to even activate Vanguard on FB Bo

I mostly just had 1 leftover AP on offense and threw it on Tony for SP, just wanted to check if it was a complete waste, but I think it'll be worth.

Doubt it will be a complete waste, although if you don't end up blocking with your TE all that much, might be better invested elsewhere.  You're using Gift-Wrapped (1AP) on your QB, correct?

Yep yep got gift wrapped on, I could drop Gonzo's SP and one other ability to add back Gunslinger to QB Bo, but I wanted to try running him without it and see how it goes.

I used Andrew Luck for ~2 months without Gunslinger and definitely started out life with Bo (QB) also without Gunslinger, although I have since dropped HRM, in favor of the 1AP Master Tactician, now i simply wait the 9 plays for this to activate and fill in with TE/Slot/WR Apprentices in the mean time.  I absolutely adore having the Conductor component of Master Tactician, getting a couple (2) pre-snap adjustments and then quick hiking your opponent before they're able to set up their defense is extremely underrated.

Lemme know what you think about Bo without Gunslinger.  It's a very slight difference, but lately, I want every advantage I can get to ensure the ball comes out quickly.

Wow I took Gunslinger off Bo, and managed to win my first H2H SB today going 8-0.

I got some pretty easy competition, but I had no trouble without GS; Bo still threw dots over and over and my line kept him clean.

Along with dropping GS I took SP off Gonzo, Slot-O off Hines, and YAC off Terry to use the AP/XF on Gonzo's Momentum Shift while preserving Deep Elite for Carmichael. 

I think I'm going to stick with this look, I liked being able to turn off the defensive XFactors easily, and had my token on LT before where it was borderline worthless. Thought about putting it on Troy but with AD on defensive Momentum Shift it's a luxury being able to control opponent XFactors.

I'm still very bummed about the ROH XFactors, having only one token to go around makes over half the players suboptimal for me, and I was very excited for the drop.
