How do you stop this play? my usual adjustments stopped working
Most of the time cover 3 blitz in dollar shaded outside and underneath with fs also deep to make it basically cover 4. most of the time it completely cooks them. But if they run verticals like in spread offense I get cooked and that defense can't stop shit. So if anyone knows how to stop spread vertical offense plz lmk lol
I blitz 5...if that don't work...then 6. They can't complete it if they can't throw it. Now...if their five offensive linemen lock down my 6 rushers (oh it does)...then I get toasted, but...at least I know which way the game is going to go early.
33 odd agap with cover 3 cloud (some cov adjustments needed based on what the opponent is doing and which side the bunch is on)
3-2 dollar, 2 man under, put outside corners in purples, either leave blitzing lb be or user/ any zone based on opponent, MAN ALIGN, ensure the weak side slot is either manned up on rb or in light blue.
the other LB is similar to the blitzing one, user, blitz or zone. Leave safeties alone.
set curl flat to 30
to make it simple, LBs coverage is based on where the YouTube copycat wants to throw it.
both slot corners should be left in man, and be your best mcv corners, outside corners, always zone
I lose all respect for someone who constantly uses this play. I don't have a problem stopping it. It's just annoying.

I'm not sure you do, unless you can get pressure home before the Post part of the play fully develops. I believe that/this is why Double Post is widely regarded as THE best single play in the entire game, the routes tend to cook everything. I try to Man up TE and Slot receivers, while also preserving some over top deep safety help, often from Cover 3, perhaps the meta FS Zone Blitz with some hybrid style adjustments as described above.
However, it's the pressure that becomes crucial here at consistently stopping this play, IMO. Your USER has to shadow the deep breaking post route and hope he's not able to dump it off to the TE or HB in time, or capable of nailing those sideline breaking C-routes from the weak side of the formation.
Honestly I don’t see it much anymore. Everyone and their mother expects it so I bunch offset guys with a brain have moved onto dagger out of bunch strong. That said, I’m a fan of manning up TE and HB and then usering the post.
^ that’s usually cover 2 or 4. Single high safeties get bombed with this play really easily
Thanks guys. I'm seeing this play every game and i'm just so tired of it. I would usually just man up a few guys but idk, it hasn't been working lately
1 big thing that helps is man align IMO, if you don't, you don't have enough coverage to bunch side, man align cover 3, man up your SLCB1 on the outside bunch WR, make sure to adjust the weakside LB to a flat zone/man up HB, shade the outside bunch WR to the inside, as somebody stated it's extremely hard to stop both double post and verticals from bunch offset since different receivers in the bunch for both plays need to be guarded different
