EA killed theme teams

Gotta disagree with you there.  This is first year that I’ve been stagnant at 83 for weeks now.  I’m 50/50 team but unthinkable 3 players that went up due to boosts.  Most of them don’t show any boost in OVR. That’s NEW.  I’ve had two theme teams, same in both.  EA made changes and they aren’t our benefit.

Yet is it there fault the generic legends that are dropped every year just happened to play for those teams?

I used to always be a Legends TT guy until last year when they introduced the TT Remix promo which made true theme teams even better.  So last year I ended up with Ravens. Now that EA has eliminated Legends team chems completely... their strategy is to get guys like me to frequently change out our teams.  

We're only two months in... and I've made significant changes five times already... I started with best players available.  Then I went to Seahawks.  Then to Campus Heroes/Seahawks.  Then to Seahawks/Chiefs.  Now I'm on Chiefs/Steelers.  It's only a matter of time where I'll be switching over to the usual suspects (Cowboys... Raiders... Niners).  It's rough going for anyone rocking a true 50/50 TT this early in the year.

im rocking a 50/50 Steelers tt, I have 6 non Steelers it’s doable but not for all teams. currently 86 overall.

i'm 45/50 commanders i have over 500k and tbh this game is nothing but a daily simulator i just go watch a movie or something not of this game.

Steelers are one of the better pure TT's right now but, depending on your scheme,  a 50/50 Steelers TT really has to be flexed at the following positions... LT, RT, TE, WR3, DT2, OLB, and CB3.   Even then you're not putting a lot of the best players in the game on the field.  It's Tyreek OR Calvin (not both) no decent linebackers other than maybe Watt (and that's a stretch)... RE Cam Heyward is barely usable... Minkah at FS is too slow at this point.  

Hopefully EA will continue to release good Steelers players... would love to see Mike Webster, Alan Faneca, Maurkice Pouncey, Dermontti Dawson, Mel Blount, Kevin Greene, Shazier, Jack Lambert, Jack Ham, James Harrison, Gregg Lloyd, Joey Porter, Rod Woodson, Carnell Lake, Donnie Shell.

Viable theme teams, even this early would make the game so much better. been playing online teams made up of the identical 25 players since the start. Who else still sees RG3 at least half the time now?  For a long time, every good team had Bo with jukebox. Variety would be so easy to get to.  Release more cards without cranking up the overalls so fast. I’m NMS.  Not because I can’t afford to spend.  There just isn’t any point. Been playing since Madden came out and since MUT was a thing.  Theme team chems used to buff a character as much as two points overall.  they’ve ratcheted down the number of viable cards and dramatically diminished the impacts of chems. EA isn’t going to change. This is the way for them to get the top tiny percent to spend like crazy with the least amount of work.

I  run 50-50 hawks  and they have actually blessed us this year feel like we have one of the more complete teams now

Game just came out a month ago, there shouldn't be teams that are stacked up with 85+ in majority of positions.

And if EA put out tons of cards with all 32 team chems, then the theme team purists will also claim EA is messing up theme teams.

Nobody said that you need 32 stacked theme teams. There aren’t enough viable cards or variety.  Maybe we can all agree on that.  EA could help this a lot by eliminating some of the stupid position designations that have plagued our lineups for years. DE instead of RE or LE. Just give us 4 or  5 RB slots instead of releasing the game every year with 7 FB cards with 64 FB roster slots.

No offense but the reason you’re playing so many identical teams in H2H is because people want the best cards to compete with. 50/50 theme teams will get you crushed early on unless you’re the Steelers/Eagles/Chiefs/Seahawks, as theres too many holes to fill, especially on your special teams. After zero chill you’ll start to see more actual theme teams once we have more cards - we’re not even 2 months in, so you can’t expect every team to have good enough cards to run pure theme teams yet.

I can't lie, I never really understood why people play MUT and use a theme team other than boosts once the teams get built up. if you want to play with your own team play regs?  the whole point of MUT is to have the latest & greatest players, it's like your trying to band aid your situation because you don't grind or spend enough to keep up. nothing is wrong with an 83 team especially if you add in all the free cards from grinding.

promo theme teams are awesome, the campus heroes theme team was one of the best in the game and you didn't really have to spend much because the cornerbacks & wr's all had good stats.

people complain about sh*t that makes no sense, if you can't keep up just realize that and play draft or regs, it's fine.

Here's a thought....aside from totw  & legends how about giving new cards to all 32 teams in every promo? EA encouraged the idea of having theme teams in the game so why don't they do something to help facilitate that?

That is the whole point of your MUT. People play for lots of reasons. No stretch of thinking at all to understand why someone would, in MUT and not regs, want to play with a theme team that includes past players and legends from their own team. Also easy to understand someone that has the newest best card at every position and likes the promo chems. EA could have all of these exist in the same game mode without much trouble and without  sacrificing competitive balance. Hard to understand anybody who doesn’t want and expect more content and more variation in what they see online, but to each his own. Peace.
