NFL Players of the Month fpr September:
Said it before, I'll say it again. EA needs to make this a regular release in MUT every month. How/why they don't is beyond me.
the reason they dont do this is because the NFL season goes by more of a week to week basis whereas baseball goes by months. thats why they do team of the week and not team of the month

They could easily add back a football outsiders type promo..
Why they don't is due to how lazy and content they are.

I'm not suggesting a Team Of The Month program - simply a regular program that aligns with what is currently going on with the NFL throughout the season.
NFL does player of the week awards too. That should have no bearing on a player of the month program for EA. EA can still do their arbitrary picks for TOTW and have a regular program that follows what is currently happening throughout the NFL season.

i think the reason they cant do something like this is because they already have promos pre-planned and what stars are getting cards. so i think for something like this would interfere with their promo drops and some players will upgrade too fast
It would create more work for them because as someone just said some of the players would probably clash with promos they have planned for them. And that's just too much work I guess. They're going to do the least amount possible to get the biggest return on investment. If it's hard or costly, they won't do it.
While I understand the potential "conflict" with pre-planned programs there is no rule that says you can't have an 86 OVR POTM and 86 OVR Most Feared Jerry Jeudy (or whoever).
NHL not only has multiple versions of the same player with the same OVR, they can have a promo card that auto-upgrades to 99 and will still release lower OVR "regular progression" cards.
My point being, there should be more programs/promos/etc that more closely follow current events during the season to make the game more engaging and connected to what is happening in the league.
It's all too easy to use the "EA is lazy" excuse too but I think it's more a lack of creative thought process than laziness. Then again I don't work at EA so I'm just speculating.
I just don't think this dev team has the manpower to properly QC what is already in the pipeline.*
*Unless that bug impacts a bottom line, in which case all hands on deck until it is resolved.

I agree with you completely. We need more promos & cards. More options are never a bad thing. But EA has shown they're only going to do the minimum to make the most money.
I really liked the Football Outsiders program. Schefters Stars was a great program also. In 17 or 18 they had a player of the month type program. I think it was called Man of the month. The first player was Julio Jones. You had team heroes every month and if you did all the sets for the month you got Man of the month.

I don't remember man of the month but I think in '17 I was just getting started with Madden and had no clue what MUT was.
I loved Football Outsiders! Such a great variety of players picked and all justified by their performances (statistically).
Also, FO felt like the one program that was connected to what was going on in the NFL during the season. I know I have a bias about this but I Think more programs connected to current events would be more engaging for we, the players. For me personally the best programs are TOTW, Playoffs, Super Bowl and the team affinity programs. Not to sound like a broken record, while I don't dislike the past players included in TOTW, I still believe that's a program that should focus on current players and return to including more low-mid level cards to help fill backup positions.
From a technical standpoint there's no reason any of these changes can't happen (not this year, of course). It really just requires a change of philosophy/approach to content that likely won't come without a top down change to the dev team.
