Even with maxed out GG and dailies we can’t complete season 1

Yeah completing these passes got a LOT worse this year. and before we always got 1 or 2 max OVR cards that are BND for doing some nonsense in each program and that's been pretty much dead this year

There's two distinct and very different versions of this game for me.  Solo Battles (offline) against the CPU are relaxing, mindless, enjoyable... although i wish they were slightly more challenging at times, but hey AI is still not on par with even my mediocre abilities.  Playing the Goon squad in recent Gridiron Guardians promo has actually been quite fun, I've had to replay a handful 2 or 3 times.  Having to pay for the "privilege" to unlock these Challenges, is such a huge crock of shit.  WE ALREADY GAVE YOU (Electronic Arts) $70-100 at least.  All that being said, H2H requires low latency (preferably with my controller actually hardwired via USB to the PS5 console), no distractions and/or interruptions and intense focus.  My senses become immediately heightened and my heart starts racing the moment I jump into any H2H game.

I'm not trying to pretend i'm Michael Jordan or anything, but that competitive fire is not something that is easily switched off, at least for me.  I grasp that ultimately none of this truly matters and the rewards are meaningless crap, "pack trash" would be far too generous, but the mere thought of losing is beyond enraging.  Mad respect to each and every one of you who are able to enjoy a leisurely H2H game of MUT.  Perhaps someday I'll get there.

I mean yea, of course you want to win but it's not life or death lol. I rage plenty but over the years, i've learned it's just a game and i'm a little better now but i have my moments.

Only within the past couple/few weeks have i begun to truly focus on trying to re-adjust my thinking towards this game.  It's just not worth the stress and constant disappointment as you so accurately pointed out.  At a certain point i become the asshole for foolishly hoping, wondering & waiting for the gameplay to improve and become the simulation fatball i thought i was signing up for.

Unfortunately, I'm still trying to learn this important lesson.  Much respect, i certainly hope to follow your example in the coming months.  I assumed i'd at least make it through Xmas promo before things stopped being fun, but this has been almost all wr0k, little to no reward.  At this point it wouldn't surprise me one bit if we see a "Battle Pass" type subscription coming for Season 2, or beyond.  I just learned that NBA2K `24 has done something similar.  Unreal.

I've been playing MUT since Madden 17. I only played a few months of 22 and i didn't play at all last year so that might have something to do with me accepting the game for what it is, i'm not experiencing burnout like a lot of other people. Honestly, i just take the game for what it is. 

We can sit here and make posts all day about the negatives and most of the time, we are 100% right but i think Madden in general is pretty much beyond saving and i accept it. Build your team whether your NMS or MS and enjoy it the best you can. We all know how fun MUT used to be and how fun the promos were but videogames in general just aren't as fun as they used to be imo, not just Madden. 

Lots of these games are stressful and they just get worse and worse. Whether it's people glitching or using cheese plays or NMS fighting with MS and blaming each other for the state of the game, it's just a very toxic environment now which is why i only take it serious to a certain point. I'm as competitive as they come but sometimes, shit happens and you just need to laugh it off. I work long hours so when i come home, i just want to play and enjoy myself regardless

Amen to that.  I started playing Madden `22 (but no MUT), as it was included at a certain point with our Playstation Plus subscription... then my son convinced me to grab `23 during Black Friday sale, so we got both Madden & NBA2K `23, i think around $35 each.  No complaints.  Then after a few months I was starting to figure things out and actually began enjoying myself -- that's when stuff began getting a little too serious.  I was working a ton and getting enraged at my inability to tinker with online H2H play, kept getting absolutely crushed.  So at some point last winter i ended up plunking down a not-insignificant amount of money to build out my 49ers theme team.  First time in my life i've ever participated in Pay to Win game mechanics.  Sure we've bought tons of Fortnite skins and such for the kid, but that's a free to play game and he still is in it all the time with his friends, so hard for me to complain there.

This is an entirely different situation.  I'm old enough to know better, but still managed to get suckered.  I kept playing through summer and was gearing up for my first Day 1 MUT launch, built all 33 Rookie Premiers (cost ~15M coins to do), so i was all aboard the hype train heading into this year, hoping that "make or break" actually meant something.  HA.  What a damn fool I am.  So now i'm on a quest to unwind myself from the sheer madness, so I don't become part of the toxicity.

I work a ton and just want to sit down for a couple/few hours in the evenings and drop into a fun game, but online H2H has become basically everything you stated and more/worse, oof.  I think i've managed to play ONE full online H2H game, which was a loss.  It's incredible how many kids will quit out after their first pick.  Have a little heart, man.

Thanks for sharing yer personal story and background.  I hope to be able to take some of yer valuable words of advice, "enjoying it the best i can" is the ultimate goal, but will require some serious mental gymnastics before I'm able to finally arrive at that point.  Be safe, happy weekend to you, kind sir.

EDIT:  I've played really old Madden, cannot for the life of me recall which versions, but it's been decade(s).  I'm old enough to have played Tecmo Bowl on 8-bit NES, so was thrilled to have Bo Jackson as my featured back.  Great memories.

yea for sure man. I was one of the guys who would do like, 2000-3000 solos a year since it all counted for Mut Master, i was a grinder 100% but they just completely ruined that part of the game and now you're forced to play online which i love but at the same time, sometimes my brain is burnt out from work and i just want to do some Gauntlet or Journey or whatever else they used to give us. Go check out a Madden 18 video and see all the content we had.

You enjoy the weekend as well dude. At the end of the day, we are all in the same boat with this crazy game and we all feel the same way so at least we have a place to vent when things go south lmao

I can't stand doing the offline shit lol. H2H is the only point of the game for me. If I'm doing challenges I'm hating every minute of it. So I had that same question lol. Maybe it's trolls. 

I'm sure franchise or superstar provide a far better offline experience than MUT.

this game is like the stock market you win some you lose some. the reason i like playing solo challenges is to upgrade my team in fun ways.  of course i want to test it out in h2h but h2h shouldn't just be the ONLY  viable source of rewards (good or bad)  that's like saying the only way you can earn VC  is by getting a  full-time job to easily max out your level. or go to the REC as a 60 ovr and play out your character. (but the catch is mycareer doesn't give progressions or  VC  for playing 15 minute quarters on hall of fame.)

essentially like a artist meeting with fans, if you were not first  they love you but at the same time think fuck you.

Online play is the most toxic bullshit I've ever seen on a video game. Glitch play after Glitch play. Also the server are trash too

Wow.  I’m not that engaged in here in MUT.gg… but man, I can relate to most of your posts. I don’t know if it’s because I’m a 49ers fan, or I have children as well, or because I’m an old Madden gamer.. but when I read your posts it seems like they were written by me... keep it up because your voice is heard.

It’s frustrating; hopefully they start double for dailies like they have in the past at the end of seasons and maybe we get one more program?!?
