Golden Ticket Ideas

Here is my list of Golden Ticket ideas that I think would be powerful or just fun to use

keep in mind golden tickets this year can get any ability bucket, even ones that are not associated with their position.

1. Ed Too Tall Jones | Defensive End

Ability Bucket One: Power Rusher

Ability Bucket Two: Pass Coverage

Ability Bucket Three:  Pass Coverage

Ability Bucket 4: Run Stopper

Zero AP Bucket: Acrobat/Pick Artist

stat boosts: spec catch, trucking, zone, man, catch in traffic 

this card would be insane to user off the defensive line, it would create unique interception opportunities due to jumping, length, and abilities and would be fun to use creatively. 

2.  Ray Nitschke | MLB

Ability Bucket One: Slot

Ability Bucket Two: Vertical Threat

Ability Bucket Three: Run Stopper

Ability Bucket Four: Pass Coverage

Zero AP Bucket: Short In Elite, Lurker

Ability Boosts: SRR, MRR, CIT, Man, COD

Everyone knows MLB’s can also play tight end in Madden! How fun would it be to have a guy who can play both sides of the ball effectively? Ray already plays great on defense, with these ability options he could be a threat on offense too, he already has great trucking on his 95 OVR, as well as pretty decent catching stats too! so this card would save a roster spot on some teams, and be unique and fun to use. there are possibly “better” options for this idea like MLB Parham, but I think picking a true defender makes it more fun, and stronger at his true position.   

3. Patrick Ricard | FB

Ability Bucket One: Power Back

Ability Bucket Two: Receiving Back

Ability Bucket Three: Power Back

Ability Bucket Four: Slot

Zero AP Ability Bucket: Nasty Streak, Human Joystick

Ability Boosts: COD, SRR, Juke, Lead Blocking, CIT

with these abilities, and a proper ratings boost by EA, Ricard would become one of the most versatile fullbacks in the game, at 300 pounds he would run through DB no problem, with nasty streak he would be lethal as a blocker, and with boosts to SRR, and the slot bucket, he could be dangerous out of the backfield as a pass catcher as well.

I did not pull a GT, and therefore cannot make one, but these ideas are just some fun ones I had to be more creative and make versatile players. I was not aiming for Meta, and I’m not sorry about it.

No, you can do whatever. TJ said on stream that, for example, you could give a QB an Elusive HB bucket or something

I hope so too, my fear is everyone is too worried about making ”meta” OOP cards, QBs, and WRs to actually even think to use the special buckets and be fun! I know there’s one dev at EA who makes great cards, the guy who did the AKA program, and I know when he puts his out it’ll be a great GT, but I’m worried about the rest.

I wish we could make cards that could have the vanguard X factor ability so that on defense someone could dominantly wish impact blocks as a user and destroy any cheesy run plays

The only problem with making defensive end GT’s is, unless they change their mind and allow us to put unstoppable force x factors on them, a 99 GT Too Tall won’t generate as much pressure as a 97 Tank or 98 Furious George. It’s the same as the RB’s…the AKA players are end game because of their x factors. Now the fullback I can get behind…I’d love a GT Fridge FB like his ghost card that I could stack return man and goal line back or honorary linemen on.

that’s not the point of this Too Tall, he would be more for run support and surprise lurking the flats and middle of the field

I used to user from the D line (edge rushers are OLBs until i got john madden to 98 now its one OLB and him) with both lineman haveing edge threat elite and it would help with height advantage, but im sure somehow he would be like 95-97 spd with every other linbacker haveing 98-99 and he woudnt be relevant very long

I think i do and i think it would be fun, correct me if im wrong, but your saying make a to tall GT that gets good catching and coverage type attributes to run him from the edge and user him for the heck of it. I was saying how i used to do the same thing because it pulls no one from there coverage or zones. The point of the abilities and stat boosts it make sure he is usauble and i was just explaining how in some way his speed would be slow making it hard to user him with all the 99 spd WRs to ensure the card isnt broken

Obviously I’m a Cowboys fan, so I’d be all for a Too Tall upgrade, but you’d be hard pressed to find people who would be excited about adding a DE who would excel at “lurking in the flats.” I understand your reasoning for running that in your scheme but I’m saying there likely aren’t many people who 1) play like that and 2) would pay GT prices for a DE who likely wont generate as much pressure as the AKA guys they already have.

I wouldn’t really know what I’m doing but if I had to choose an OOP it would be a Vernon Davis CB.
