hey man, it is awesome that you are a good player, with professional contacts, but you are also wrong here. The other guy explained it perfectly. Vanguard is a passive x factor added in as an ability in slot 1. It is activated all game. You might be thinking about Grab and Smash which is his x factor (in the x factor slot) that deactivates after so many plays.

if you followed it, I was referring to the wrong Vanguard. I had been using the X factor not the ability.

I did apologize for my mistake and I will try out the other Vanguard later.

Great post.. It's. a Must have.. I run I form stretch alert lookie.. I look what side has a lb or dB blitzing and then make sure to motion him to that side.. I keep a bottle of syrup ready for those pancakes. He ain't lying I try to run behind him down field and just watch him Boom stick away.. Try the motion him method. Once u get the hang of it, Your run stretch  game will be amazing.  Great post.  Way to put out great info for everyone. Be Great GOD Bless

I think the point the guys were making that I was mistaken about is that it is an ability and not the X factor

Gronks vanguard ability is passive (it’s on every single play)

Honorary lineman is good, but not nearly as good as gronks vanguard ability. I have Zimmerman and csonka with 0 AP honorary lineman and they typically hold their blocks against DB‘s but only Pancake a quarter as much as Gronk!

Yeah well apparently I screwed up and didn't put the right Vanguard on him LOL. I did not realize at the time I got full Gronk that it was like an ability in a slot /bucket 1. It is the same as Run N Gun on Stabler. It's really an ability based on an X Factor but active all game

Jwas is correct. 

Gronk has vanguard available as a passive ability active all game long in one of his ability buckets; not in the x factor bucket.

That vanguard ability for 1 ap lasts the whole game. It doesn't light up under him like an x factor but it lights up every time he hits someone like normal abilities do

That being said, Gronk is op with vanguard. Man flattens anyone. Combine that with Csonka getting free honorary lineman, and your run game will go crazyyyy

This crap combined with Quadfather absolutely ruined the game this year. Run a counter, have your Vanguard, honorary lineman and Nasty Streak knock 3-4 guys on their butt, mash Truck Stick over and over and that’s playing good madden these days?

You could literally hand the controller to a 4 year old and run this offense. 

The best is when these Hulk Run guys get the ball with 25 seconds left and no TOs, and run counter For 2 minute drill, cause they know they can’t pass and better to just hope for a lucky run. I laugh when the clock is running out.

Yes there are two vanguard abilities, one passive for 1ap in the bucket beside x factor and one for 0ap in the normal x factor bucket. 

Similarly Stabler gets Run and gun in that slot for 1ap, and the new Calvin gets max security in that slot. Might have to do some testing on max security to see if it cancels KO's. If so that could be huge.
