I decided to do a test out of suspicion and took gunslinger off of Vick. Honestly didn't notice a difference at all in terms of release but if I'm honest it kind of even seemed like his throwing somehow got better, kinda like his arc wasn't so low that it wasn't as easy to intercept. I'm gonna personally say it's overrated.
So the whole premise of gunslinger is it makes the throwing animation faster, CC did a video about this. What it does is it basically neutralizes the animation, so for example, if every card had gunslinger, they'd all have a release time equal to trad 4, which is currently the best release.

Yeah I get all that, just didn't feel like it made that much of a difference from an anecdotal point of view.. I'm still gonna put it back on because what else would I even do for 2 AP? A lot of abilities just really aren't all that, which imo is a good thing.

Yeah I just found this out yesterday when swift mentioned it amd the video CC did on it too. Unfortunately it was after i already bought it at the same time as vick and put it on him so ill keep using it I guess.
But the jist i got is essentially if they already had a good release they still will (maaaaybe a tiny bit better but didnt make it sound like a big deal) they said the same thing applies if they have a bad release it will make it a little better but they still wont be as good as even qbs with good releases who DONT have gunslinger.

I think throw power factors into the issue of throwing animation as well but could be wrong there. Or maybe it's the velocity of the ball in the air.

Yeah, with someone like Vick who has a really good release, it probably doesn't make much of a difference

I havent used a trad 4 qb but according to the qb release chart its not even top 5.
I was using warren moon with gunslinger and I think rg3 with no abilities is better. It might just be because I’m use to rg3 but I didn’t even notice gunslinger on moon, I just noticed how much slower he is than rg3 lol.

See that’s crazy I thought the complete opposite. I thought RG3 was slow and he would overthrow everything Even wide open passes. I upgraded to moon and it was like night and day. His release seemed so much smoother and faster. So I guess it really is just a personal preference
Gunslinger hasn't been worth it since they removed the velocity gain with it. I tried Moon and Vick with it, felt no difference. Same with all QBs in 23. There comes a point where worrying about a millisecond in a release is pedantic.
But, there's nothing better ability wise now, so *shrug*

I went and put it back on. I noticed a big difference right away, but started forgetting about it after a while. It only feels like gunslinger isn't making a difference until you take it off. That's just me though. But I would not want to play without gunslinger honestly, and yeah, the fact is, most abilities really just don't make that much of a difference. I think that's a good thing personally because the game is already pretty crazy.
