Has Madden ever been as bad as it is now?

This is a real question not just looking for people to validate my opinion. I have taken a few years off from Madden in the past but I can’t recall it ever being as bad as it is right now. Before anyone tells me to just not play, I am wanting to play a football video game and they have managed to make it where they have all of the NFL rights.

The gameplay is awful, there are glitches on every menu, the game just shuts down, people can run the exact same play every play, they recycle cards and give awful things in MUT. Just wondering if there ever was a time when Madden was worse.

I think it’s just difficult to replicate real sports in football. Gameplay will always be based on glitching the cpu, it always has been. 

You just have to approach it as a video game because that’s all it is. Think about playing defense. You're playing defense from the offensive perspective. Imagine if EA flipped the camera and you now had to press a button to look behind you. 

I like winning. Its fun, but I don’t get bent out of shape about losing.

For sure, I get it can be difficult to replicate a game. But with all of the revenue they are making they can’t even be bothered to not make it a glitchy piece of garbage? That’s too much to ask for?

I honestly do not know if it’s possible. If they could figure a way to make the computer have any type of IQ it would be great. Offense might get hard though.

Good day 

I have never seen it this bad considering the fact that they have had the game and the coding for quite some time and it gets worse not better and it can’t be a money issue because they have generated enough money between fifa  and Mut . I feel given the right amount of time another  company could make the game better if given the opportunity, I’ve only been playing for a few years, but the game looks very similar every year and it’s clear that  they are not  doing much.

This is pretty bad. Played every Madden before and then every MUT since 2011 or so.  Finally took the last 3 years off because it had gotten so bad. Picked it back up this year and shocked to find that it was Actuall6 worse. Cartoonishly bad gameplay when things are going right.  Unplayable garbage most of the time.

This is so me….it feels like it had gotten incredibly bad and not at all what I used to enjoy so much...I barely played the last 4 years but remember playing almost all of the years of madden since 2000 when he was on the cover… I just wish they would do better

There no way you guys think this is worse than Madden 20.  Either y'all didn't play it or you're trolling.

The entire MCS I think there were 4 passes thrown the whole time.  Developers made a game that played as if it was 1904 Notre Dame vs Michigan.  Rumor has is they considered removing the forward pass from the game all together but the NFL said no.

gameplay is meh. the meta is the same trash ppl using the same trash plays with trash pokemon abilities to bail your players out. there hasnt been ONE promo that dropped all year that didnt have a glitch/broken field pass/ broken solos, broken house rules/ worse xmas promo of all time, now fatigue glitch, etc etc etc

it's amazing what they can get away with for having a monopoly... crazy... epic games could make a football game 10000x better and be more generous to their customers also

You obviously haven't played 13, 19, 22 or 23 but, considering how long these halfwits have had to get it right, it could definitely be argued that 24 is the worst. Funny really, in a "make or break" year.

And, I'm sorry, but I've no time for those people saying "it's just a game" because you're just letting EA get a free pass every year. By now we should expect that basic stuff works. What's the point in giving me 15 different types of gloves to wear if my 190lb CB can still pancake a 300lb LT? Why do all these glitches turn up year after year and then JUST STAY IN THE GAME!!? I've not been able to sell a strat card earned from dailies for months! Why does putting one thing 'right' lead to something else breaking all the time? Why are solos so mind-numbingly dull and repetitive? How come H2H doesn't have weather?!?!? No one has the first clue whether all the numbers on a card count for anything (I don't think they do) or what matters with archetypes etc etc etc.

Right now, it's just a cash grab every year. Start by promising loads of shit. Talk about "make or break" or " most polished game ever". Promote a handful of recycled gimics that don't work and then release a buggy mess that plays about as badly as it did 10 years ago.

Rinse and repeat. 

And, to head off all those 'if you don't like it don't buy it' bros; I buy it because it is all there is and I love the game and want to play it. The very second there's another sim option out there, I'm gone.
