I should be able to rely on X-Factors. There's no Kryptonite in the NFL. There are good players and lesser players, but there aren't players that merely step onto the field, and then other players suddenly become next to worthless.

(I will acknowledge that some abilities and X-Factors are overpowered, and ought to be nerfed. 'Counter-abilitying' overpowered items doesn't improve Madden (or any other game, for that matter), it just subjects victims of random chance to negative play experiences.)

There are players that match up differently tho. You can’t complain that you can’t rely on something because theres a counter to it. Just don’t rely on it. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with X factors, nor do I think there’s anything wrong with momentum shift

I guess our difference lies in the fact that you are OK with games being heavily slanted from the start because of the abilities our opponents may choose. This really isn't a roster assembly issue. This is about where the arms race splinters into extreme synergies that require counters, but whose counters themselves can be countered if the opponent goes for that direction. It's the Battle of Wits from Princess Bride, but without immunity to Iocane Poison. I'll just drink from my goblet.

Real football is more like Chess than like Black Jack. If I wanted to play Black Jack, I'd just play Black Jack.

I get what you’re saying, but real football does have the blackjack concept to it too. If a team invests in tall zone corners vs short man corners some teams will have an advantage against them.

Troy doesnt get Secure Tackler so cant tackle Angry Runs RBs

Bo LB is the better user

JJ is better at DT

Inside Stuff, Secure Tackler and DoN with Run Stopper for 3AP and no token needed

IMO LT is the most versatile defensive player in the game if used correctly. He gets FZKO, No outsiders, LA and Edge threat for 1 ap with the token. No other player gets that stack for even 3 ap, let alone 1.

yeah momentum shift should be a thing.....on  *DEFENSE. * offensive MS  is mind boggling unbelievable. as we get to the end of the game quarterbacks are gonna require less and less AP and EA will continue to give Secures and all days for a total of 0 leaving people attempting MS on gonzo, the game is already balanced because every single person include the inmate on house arrest,  has SP and that ability alone still occupies the UF's, Inside stuff. No outsiders, even occupy edge threats. 

(imagine toters with vanguard, bo, gonzo as their slot receiver/ te2  as soon as you gap shoot them giving up  5 yards and holding them to pass on 3rd they either A. scramble the middle of the field with Vick or bo at qb1 cause their won't be a shed from your DT cause MS  nor a fumble since he has truzz. or B. easy check down conversion with all day to throw cause MS.)
