How do I get defenders to actually stay in their zones and not chase WRs

So Ill give up a big play and then I'll go back and look at my play call and see I should have had a zone CB there

Then ill watch the replay and notice my CB will leave thier zone to chase a WR into another CBs zone, so Ill have 2 CBS in the same spot

I believe you are in match coverage. If you look at the bottom left of the play, it will show if you are in a zone or match coverage. Try calling a zone play instead, or you can set your zone drops in coaching adjustments to eliminate match as well.

I think almost all of the cover 4 plays are match by default. You'll need to tell your defense to play overtop or underneath and that should remove the match coverage so they don't run away from their zones

Soft squats also match sometimes this year, so in some Tampa 2 and Cover 2 blitzes your outside CBs will match even if the playcall screen doesn't say it is match coverage.  

Typical match coverages are Cover 4 Palms, Cover 4 Quarters, and Cover 6...but yeah you can override the matching rules by using zone drops or shading your coverage up or down.
