It’s always versus man coverage. My WR will have several yards of separation but their CB always catches up and gets the pick. I usually do a lob pass so it should have the trajectory to go over the CB. What am I do wrong?

You need a QB with probably like 97+ Throw Power, throw a lob pass and lead it straight deep. If you lead it at an angle it will underthrow and the DB will get under it like 95% of the time.

I’m not underthrowing the ball. I’m throwing it early enough to where my QB should have enough power to lead it. Does the Throw Power matter if that’s the case (or maybe thats my issue).
But my problem is probably leading it at an angle. If I throw deep it’s usually a post route and I kinda lead it to the sideline and deep, maybe I just need to change to leading straight out and that might help. Thanks

Yeah it’s probably more to do with the angle of the lead than anything. I’m not saying you’re under throwing it, I’m saying when you lead at an angle it makes it easier for the DB to catch up and get underneath.
The lob pass should work way better if you try to lead your receiver straight deep but even that will get intercepted if your QB is under pressure or doesn’t have enough throw power.
Try leading upfield with a bullet pass and highballing if it’s a qb arm strength issue

I should high ball even if I’m throwing it 50+ yards down field?

I would if your receiver has less than 5 yards of separation

I didn’t realize you could highball that far down field, I thought it was for throwing close passes and getting them over safeties. I’ll give it a try, thanks man.
I play a mostly deep ball scheme on offense and I throw a high ball on like 95% of my passes.. unless I had an ability light up on like a deep corner route then I might do a regular free form pass but literally any other pass is a highball.

Good to know, thanks.
I would high ball and free form it
