It really frustrates me how poor my passing can be sometimes especially against really good players who are excellent users. I'm an above average player but my passing game is not dynamic. It mainly consists of short passes 10 yards or less and that gets figured out quickly by opponents. When I hike the ball I try to see what the user is trying to do and will look at the linebackers and have 2 sometimes 3 reads I can realistically look for. I'm of the belief that the user can't guard everyone and that someone is usually open but its just finding that player or scheming that player open but its alot easier said than done.
I'm not really talking about MCV even though it can be a real pain to go against someone running a good MCV scheme and who brings down a safety cause MCV isnt that hard to beat you just have to have a few man beating routes, find the open receiver and make the plays even though it can be difficult, you know what your dealing with when it comes to MCV. What is the best way to scan the field after hiking the ball or does it change depending on the play? I rarely pass deep so I figure looking at the safeties wouldn't be the route to go though I really do want to improve my passing game especially the medium to deep passes and start attacking all parts of the field. What is the best way to scan the field and find the weak spot in defenses?
