How long would it take (assuming they actually wanted to)

To make Madden an actual sports video game again? Instead of a "choose your own adventure" QuickTime event animator to play out the series of badly designed and lazy mechanics or RNG that has nothing to do with sports and the actual user has very little control over?

I'm not a tech guy, it's an honest question. If EA wanted to go back to a game we actually play rather than watch, circa Madden early 2000s/NFL 2k etc could they even do it at this point? Or would it take years of overhauling that they wouldn't see the payoff until it's too late (when they finally and mercilessly lose the exclusive rights, which would be there own fault btw and I'd laugh while selling off what little stock I was silly enough to hold of theirs)

And if the answer to that is yeah, not gonna happen. Where is the product ready to take it's place? Is it 2k a couple years from now? Maybe someone we've never heard of?

which madden exactly do you mean? Legitimately, the game is just bigger now, so people publish the glitches they find. Combine that with the general house rule of “if you play annoying I won’t play you” is out the window with WL records and online gameplay

I think the real problem is madden just feels rushed every year. The “new” features they add are always glitchy and barely make a difference. Really the only things they do  are update players and change the music to make it even more ass every year. Maybe also change the color pattern in the background lol. The solution isn’t 2k, they’re the same as EA, just as bad. Idk who can solve it but I think they need to overhaul a lot and focus on fixing BASIC gameplay issues. Then they can focus on adding more new features and modes.

I believe so. Theres an unbeliavable story behind that btw you should look it up. How it basically ruined the game and they knew early on it ruined the game and would take years to fix so they just never bothered and it's gotten worse each year the code ages. Its well known they basically accepted the bad products and reviews to come knowingntheyd   still get huge profit instead of fixin nit. This was like in 2014 o think. Maybe 15.

Yeah game will always be trash if it's frostbite.
