How would you rate this year's Madden a little bit over a month in?

Old gen player here, honest answer is

Gameplay: 8/10

Content Quality: 5/10

Packs:3/10

Old gen still has glitches with uniforms not looking right(stretched numbers, cutoff numbers) and is still missing uniforms in every mode: i.e. the Colts Indiana Nights alt.

Lots of positives about 'gameplay'? I'm curious, does anyone think it plays like real football?

Last year's game had so many quality issues... I think many of us forget now a year later.  The various passes not tracking progress, tons of miscellaneous quality issues, rampant freeze glitching, etc made the game borderline unplayable for months for many customers.

This year's game seems to have addressed much of that.  But on the flip side, the bad menu design and lag... pointless catalog...  splitting the auction house up between five different platforms... and most importantly missing the mark by so much with regard to balancing rewards versus grind.  M24 is almost as frustrating as M23 was.

Overall 3/10.

I started writing down everything that was wrong this year but the list was long and boring and everyone knows what's on it so I stopped.  In an average hour playing, I'll experience 10 - 15 minutes of fun but the rest will be either boredom, bemusement, or mockery. Madden 23 was better in a way because with that game I felt rage, with this one it's just disappointment. The game has no soul. Everything from opening a reward to completing a challenge is just dull. H2H just about keeps me interested and because of that I literally HAVE to play the challenges in order to get better players (I'm NMS) but shouldn't I be playing them because they're fun? They're not. It feels like a job. Anyone who only plays solo must surely have packed it in already.

A "make or break" year apparently. No, just marketing horseshit to get all of us slubs buying it again.

Non-Ultimate Team: 9/10. Really impressed in the revamped superstar mode, and the new park more like 2k. Franchise is still the same, which is fine by me as it really doesn't need any major revamps.

Overall, its decent, and enjoyable for bursts but not for a long time in a row like previous years.

I agree with everything but content drops. They've been very boring so far. Copy and paste and copy and paste. Nothing has really stood out yet.

Gameplay is the best it’s been for the most part. Really I only have a few gripes:

- Some RPOs are pretty busted. Players should be way more reactive when a play is spammed repeatedly. Surely we’ve all played some every single play  RPO read flat wheel scrubs in mut

- I can’t believe swerving is still a thing. Should be pass interference or the interactions should be better. Megatron getting held back on a streak then picked overhead by some 160 lb db is so dumb.

- The random absurdly wild passes are silly. No nfl quarterback is gonna make some of the throws my RGIII has made. Even when there’s no pressure and his feet are set? Come on.

- Some blitzes still def too OP, lineman act completely lost sometimes, max protect and sliding is a roll of the dice on whether they’ll pick up or not.

MUT is a huge bust tbh. I really wish I hadn’t played it this year. It’ll def be my last. Just so greedy, soooo much grinding for trash, becoming more and more pay to play each day, yet still the content has been so meh?? gridiron guardians is a complete joke lol i was so surprised by how bad it is. Like how are so many Campus Heroes and 87 legends still the best guys at their position? Every. Single. Team. Has Bo and has had Bo for a month now. It’s just boring. Decent theme teams (excepting KC and Philly) without big gaps still feel like two+ months away.
