I Don't Really Get Most Of The Hype Surrounding 99 OVR Reggie White

Yes, he is a nice shiny Gold 99 with multiple 99 stats. Yes, he gets all 32 NFL Team Chems and is a nice boost for those who run TTs. Yes, it is Reggie White, a legend whose cards have always played well over the years. Yes, he has crazy good discount abilities (including 0 AP Edge Threat Elite, Double Or Nothing, Defensive Rally, and other abilities). But.....

Those abilities/stats don't matter thanks to Edge/Secure Protector. This card does not have any counter to the counter, but other cards do.  96 OVR Milk Man, 97 OVR Tank, and 98 OVR Maniac. Their Special X-Factors are the only real way to counter the counter. Yes, they turn off for a few plays, but by then you could sub in other high-end pass rushers (if you have the coins for such depth). 

How long will it take for people to understand that there is no point in using other pass rushers (unless for TT purposes) if they don't have the same effect as these AKA cards? I know that there are others who agree with me on this, so I can say that I am not alone.

I’m still building him, mostly so I can get Odell and Jamel. To be honest, I’ll probably end up selling him and picking up Milk Man, or even Tank if he sells for enough.

At the end of the day, it’s random anyways. Even if you had the AKA cards, they might get locked up for a game. And then the next game, they’ll be shedding like dogs. It’s all random. I have 99 Madden at LT and 99 chemmed up ToTY Lane Johnson at RT and sometimes They’ll block like really good and sometimes not. that’s how it is with all cards. Just like how some QBs will just throw errant passes for no reasons other than to give the ball away. it’s the way this game goes. Still getting him at the end of the day though 😂

He will be a good dt next to milk man with tank and maniac on edges. Yet still won't be any better than  Mario Williams. I will use him for d rally support mainly. Nothing will replace Tank, maniac, milkman until UL de's with baked in xfactors.

I was a winner of one of the dump trucks this morning which includes Reggie.  I have no earthly idea what to do with him as I have Maniac, Tank and Madden as my front 3.  Maniac and Tank will not be replaced because their X-Factors are way too valuable.  I will probably just let him collect dust in the binder or give him a shot at DT and see what happens.

Personal choice, simple as that.

I'll be using the card, as when it comes to building my team and running my team, my opinion is the only one that matters.

^^ This.  Some people choose not to run meta offense/defenses and do just fine.  Regardless, at this point in the year it (should) come down to what players you want on your squad for end game and personal preference.  To each their own imo

Thanks. Imagine playing the game in the manner you want to, and not giving a damn about abilities or the meta.

People take this way too seriously at times.
