I need run defense help or I’m quitting Madden 23

no matter what I do or what I call I get tan on for 5-12 yards. I am helpless. I’ve tried pinching crashing, not pass committing, run committing, different formations, different abilities. I just cannot stop it no matter what. I am going To quit madden if I do not receive any help or improve. It’s simply impossible to play and win with everyone chew clocking every play.

I just probably suck so  going to quit most likely. Any help wanted but I give up.

You need abilities. they rule the game. try inside stuff, secure tackler, etc on D-linemen and secure tackler is a must for LBs and DBs if they get it at a discount. if you can’t stop Quadfather or King Henry, then join the club lol. Wait to see the formation they’re in before calling your defense. anything under center, 3-4 or 4-3 or 4-4 to stack as many guys in the box. Force them to beat you by passing out of those formations. but if it’s out of shotgun, some type of nickel formation.

Secure Tackler is a good ability to use. Load up on it at LB and S if you can get it discounted. Keanu Neal with Pick Artist and Secure Tackler for 1 AP has been great for me, consistently tackles Henry and Quadfather on the spot

It's annoying i know. Many people in MVP and higher just do the same run play. Usually a stretch out of the I-Form or Singleback.

I use the 4-4 and have found some success. Having no outsiders and insider stuff helps. Always make them beat you with passing out of that formation. I tend to user the safety and shade down if they keep using short out routers and play the middle deep. Don't always shade down though, only if the opponent keeps throwing short.

Try to shoot gaps and cut off their intended route. Just don't run too far out as they often cut it back in through a seam and can blow up your defense for a TD.

It's hit or miss at times, just gotta keep at it.
