If I have Pass Lead Elite on Mahomes, do I also need Gunslinger?

I took a few years of MUT off, last played before abilities existed, so I’m not that smart when it comes to abilities, i barely know what they do lol. I need 1 AP for Calvins Elite Deep Out, and idk how necessary gunslinger is for 95 Mahomes.

my other option would be to take Tank off Marshawn (I run it a lot, and honestly very rarely throw outside deep. I don’t know any of the cheese deep plays either, so I get scared to throw deep)

I’m wondering too. The write up for PLE seems to indicate that if you have it GS isn’t necessary.

Gunslinger only speeds up the throwing animation.  It doesn’t effect the velocity of the pass a single bit as it did last year.  Both SFL and PLE only speeds up velocity and doesn’t effect the throw animation whatsoever.  EA wanted players to have to activate both to get the same advantage we got from only GS last year.

94 Mahomes has a horrible release so I wouldn’t use him without GS personally.  Then PLE or SFL will deliver the ball there more quickly as well

Can you help me understand what the significance of release even is?

like, he takes too long to get rid or the ball?
