Better quality opponents, overall can only compensate for so much, and it's definitely more of a scheme vs team mode.
This whole thread has saved me a lot of headache. I knew I wasn't tripping. Mut Champs makes me question my skill level everytime. How can I go 35-7 in ranked where I lose 5 to better players, 2 because I play horribly, then jump into champs and all of a sudden i'm getting locked up by cooper dejean, kamren curl, and Sean T. Sean T will be playing man coverage like Primetime. I had a game where Jamel Dean locked up my Andre Johnson the ENTIRE game. Corner routes, zigs, outs, post. didn't matter. The one deep post he got open on, Dudes 3 man scrub rush all got free. Talking about Bryan Breese and Christian Wilkins type players.

Yes, this is a summary of champs mode
Its not like we are losing to cheesers, better play calls, better overall players...
As we would also lose to those teams in ranked mode...or any other H2H.
,
,
But we are losing to non cheesers who call bad plays and have lower overall players.
We are losing these games because our players get nerfed, play worse than other game modes - our QBs overthrow open passes, our WR drop passes, our RBs fumble and cant break tackles...or DBs dont play their zones or coverages correctly and cant cover anyone in Man
We are losing these games because our opponents get the following
--DLine gets much better pass rush than other modes
--RBs break a ton more tackles
--Offensive line hold blocks
-Better defense coverage
.
These are not personal player skill items but auto gameplay items

If i was losing to better plays, who ran cheese plays...I would understand that - I would likely lose to those types of teams in any gamemode
But I'm losing to bad players with bad teams...opponents that will throw balls right to my DBs, but my DBs drop them...not opponents that know the routes and throw to open spaces

Can't be that bad if you're losing to them

Ok, ill take your bait
If your opponent runs right into your user...yet keeps breaking tackles, even when I have conservative tackling on...does that mean I'm bad
When I call the perfect defense...and my players drop interceptions...does that make me bad?
.
If I can win often in every game mode except champs...does that make me bad?

As far as conservative tackling that is more for the a.i. as opposed to you, you control your tackling. Can have it on aggressive, but if you're controlling them you decide the tackling input. As far as perfect defense, that's your opinion on the play call. If you have a more zone balanced player and it's a man defense call you're not going to get the pick as often as if you had called zone. It's just a overall harder mode because people are more try hard in it. Trying to overanalyze and point the finger instead of working on your game seems like a waste of time to me personally, but I understand venting as well. Good luck.
jimshredder said:Update...I just played the new All Madden Run...and I can confirm this mode has honest gameplay
I won 8 games in a row...most against weaker teams though...but my team is back to playing how their true overalls should be. Its also very easy to chew the clock in this mode if you're smart
Johnny Football no longer randomly misses easy throws. WRs dont drop passes (they drop passes in Champs mode with even giftwrapped
My DEs get pass rush
Inside Stuff actually works
.
All Madden Run feels similar to the Superbowl mode H2H from last year...I hope they keep it
i can agree even when i lose its not oh man i just got robbed its more like this guy played better than me and i made mistakes that costed me the game

Never? I’ve made 16 wins 4 different times this year. Once 17 and once with 18 wins.

Do you click off?
Im like the exact opposite. I win 80-90% champs, 70-80% ranked, and like 60% H2H. Probably has to do with how locked in I am to play each
jimshredder said:I just dont understand the gameplay in Champs mode
I've been active all year, have a great team...basically every top card except team diamonds
I win 80% to 90% of any H2H mode...draft mode, house rules, ranked, etc
Yet the few times I play champs mode...I go under 500
And I'm not using to GOD squad overalls or good players.
Instead its like sometime turned up the difficulty to Super All Madden
My DBs dont follow their zones, and will not pursue passes near them
Mean Joe Green and Simmons cant stop any run, they get pancacked by mid to high 80 OLine with mid tier RBs
Johnny Football overthrows about 1/3 of his corner routes
Justin Jeff and Icky drop any pass if they are touched, as if my opponent has hidden built in knockouts
.
Most games are close, but about 5-6 random horrible back luck instances will cost me the game...whether its a blown coverage, a missed throw/dropped pass, a fumble with conservative carry.
.
But the main point of this long post..
I just dont understand why my team plays so much better in ALL OTHER GAME MODES AND H2H...but gets nerfed in champs mode
.
Has anyone confirmed why EA does this...Ive heard of DDA, but why would they only put it in champs mode and not other modes?
I don't really get it either, i assumed my lack of understanding was due to the fact that i've kind of avoided most H2H stuff (except squads) for most of the year. Finally invested in my squad and have been dabbling with Ranked play, as of this past weekend. Started off by warming up with MUT Champs, just for giggles... went 7-0 to start, then it happened. I started getting beat deep on random 1 play prayers over the top that my DBs running stride for stride simply could not catch. Then it happened again. And again. I don't know what my record is at the moment in MUT Champs, maybe it's liek 8-3 or 8-4, but I haven't dipped back into that, as my focus has been Ranked.
At this stage I fully understand and even expect this game to be a buggy ass, inconsistent mess, but the sheer amount of variations between games is so strange. I'm not ready to start screaming "rigged!" or DDA type nonsense, but there's just so many things wrong with this game that it's difficult to begin assessing them.
